Looking forward:The biggest films of 2008

Himesh Reshammiya's second release as an actor, after Aap Kaa Surroor, is a remake of Subhash Ghai's smash hit Karzzz. Himesh will play the part that Rishi Kapoor enacted in the original. Urmila will play the role that Simi Garewal made memorable. The film is being made on an extravagant scale and has fresh tunes composed by Himesh in it. The actor has also gone for a complete image makeover for the film.

Madhur Bhandarkar's films have always made the headlines for its provocative and gripping stories. Fashion is no different. The film stars the sexy Priyanka Chopra and Kangana Ranaut in pivotal roles. Bhandarkar also admits one of the sub-plots might go into the rivalry between two male fashion designers. After a steely Corporate and a touching Traffic Signal, this is one film we are sure to find gripping!

Priyanka Chopra is at it again. This time she is attempting comedy in Rumi Jafferey's God Tussi Great Ho, where she plays a journalist. The film also stars Big B and Salman Khan, who will come together after Baabul. The Priyanka, Salman, Amitabh combo seems to be quite interesting, but it's up to the audience to decide the fate of this much-hyped film.

Ram Gopal Varma managed a casting coup of sorts when he signed on the three Bachchans—Amitabh, Abhishek and bahu Aishwarya Rai—together for the first time after the Kajra re number in Bunty Aur Babli. Though Abhishek takes over the empire in Sarkar Raj, it is learnt that Amitabh has a significant role in the film. It is also learnt that Aishwarya will not star opposite Abhishek. Instead, she will portray a shrewd businesswoman with shades of grey.

Goldie Behl makes a comeback after four years with this supernatural thriller, which will see Abhishek Bachchan in an all new avatar. Abhishek plays a timid, mousy, bespectacled nerd who goes through a series of supernatural experiences. Priyanka Chopra plays the neighbourhood tomboy who is Abhishek's bodyguard and love interest in the film.

Love Story 2050 is a futuristic/sci-fi film which will mark the debut of producer Harry Baweja's son Harman. Harman's real life love interest, Priyanka Chopra, has been cast as the film's leading lady after Kareena Kapoor walked out of the film. Extensively filmed in Australia, Love Story 2050 is one of Bollywood's most expensive movies to date. Initially, the film was suppose to release in December 2007, but got postponed to early 2008 because of extensive post production work.

This Yashraj film, directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya who wrote the screenplay and dialogues for hits like Dhoom and Dhoom 2, is being touted as the year's biggest film. Starring Bollywood biggies like Akshay Kumar, Anil Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor, Tashan is an out and out action film with a bit of suspense. While Akshay plays a negative role in the film, Saif and Kareena have gone for complete image makeovers. The Kapoor kudi will also be seen sporting a bikini!
