 Despite repeated attempts by Aamir Khan to meet Amitabh Bachchan and clear all misunderstandings between them, Big B kept away from the premiere of his film, Taare Zameen Par. Interestingly Shweta Bachchan, with hubby Nikhil Nanda in tow, was spotted at the premiere of the film last night at a multiplex in New Delhi.The PVR multiplex at Saket in New Delhi was swamped with Delhi bigwigs and socialites Ridhima Kapur and husband, Bina and Malini Ramani, Naveen Jindal with family, RR Patil… But what caught our khabroo's attention was the presence of Shweta Nanda and the conversation that ensued between her and Aamir. Our khabroo informs us, "Shweta Nanda went up to Aamir and hugged him. She told him, 'Even though I am sensitive to my children, this film has made me realise so much more. My daughter always scores an 'A' grade but now I know I she should be appreciated for that. I'm going home and doing just that!" Aamir took this opportunity to tell Shweta that he wished her father (Big B) had also seen the film. To put the record straight, Aamir had invited Big B on Wednesday for a private screening of his film at the Yashraj Studio. But Big B didn't turn up. The eyewitness adds, "Aamir told Shweta that he would have loved if her father had also seen the film. That's when Shweta told Aamir that her grandmother (Teji Bachchan) was critical. She told him, 'Dad was disturbed about this and so it's very unlikely that he would attend any do." It may be recalled that a war of words, between Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan, had erupted after the former had posted unflattering comments on Big B's film Black, on his blog. The blog said Black is 'over-the-top'. Bachchan Sr. had not taken it too well and retaliated in a tabloid. Ever since then, Aamir has made several attempts at building bridges with Big B, without success. In a scenario like this, Shweta's presence at the film's premiere came as a big surprise. |
