Nettu Singh makes food for son's friends

Ranbir Kapoor has just started shooting for his Yashraj film, directed by Siddharth Anand.

The Kapoor scion has been generously getting daily dabba for his colleagues Kunal Kapoor and Minissha Lamba. The story goes that the actor usually prefers digging into a fare that has been prepared by mommy Neetu Singh. Ever since he started filming he asked her to pack extra food for his friends on the sets.

Ranbir's dabba has become so popular that as soon as he reports to the sets every morning, his co-actors enquire about the food. His dabba usually comprises nalli nihari (succulent chunks of mutton cooked in brown gravy), karari roti (Indian bread), prawns curry, dal makhani , pulao etc.

A crew member informs, "We are extremely fond of the nalli nihari that Neetu aunty makes for us. Ranbir is on diet so he barely eats and we're the ones gorging on the food. Our lunch-break is quite a grand affair of five to six courses."

Neetu Singh admits that she has been making and packing food for her son and his friends on the sets. It's a practice that she started when Ranbir started filming for Saawariya , she says. "Yes, I have been packing food for about 10 people every day," she says.
