TZP , Aamir's first film as director, deals with the kids suffering from the Dyslexia which is a specific form of learning disability that manifests primarily as a difficulty with reading and spelling.
Aamir plays a father to a young child who suffers from Dyslexia while in real life his son Junaid and daughter Aira, both suffer from the same disease. This film brings him closer to his own kids. He writes in his blog, "In my opinion it is the most important film on children who come out of India. I mean in its content. How you all will like it I have no idea, but what I can say is that it has changed the way that I look at my kids. And mind you, I think I make a good father. In fact it has changed the way that I look at all children."
He continues, "As we take on the burdens of adulthood we often gradually distance ourselves from our children, even our own childhood. This script brought it all back into sharp focus for me. I hope it does the same for you."
Aamir explains that TZP is not a children's film but about children. He says, "It is aimed primarily at parents, and potential parents. It is also for youngsters, who in a few years will become parents. Of course, since it is about a 9 year old boy, I expect that kids of around 8 years and above will identify with the boy and find the film engaging, moving and uplifting."
