This reminded me of Baazigar. It was Madhuri who was signed to do Shilpa Shetty's role but she refused when she learnt that a newcomer (Kajol) also has a prominent role.

Oh wow!!!! Never knew this one!! I'm glad Madhuri turned down that role. Shilpa's character was quite non-existent!!

Yep. Before Madhuri, they had approached Sridevi who wanted to make it a double role. But Abbas-Mastan were adament about Kajol doing the second sister's role.

Wow, I didnt know this both Sridevi and Madhuri were apporached for the role 😲, thats really shocked me. Considering both Mads and Sridevi were big back then, I dont think they wanted to take Shilpa's role alone, coz the role was fairly small. And Sridevi she has made quite a few double-role movies, Its funny she wanted this one too as a double-role, I guess she loves doing such movies, she was exceptional at them too👏, Sridevi was a brilliant actress one of the finest in her time.

Sridevi was not the finist in her time, rather she still is the finist, i don;t think any actress as of yet has reached her level of talent and I don't think any will
