They had great chemistry on screen. And the vibes continued off screen too. But then egos clashed and for various reasons the relationship went awry. Some of them (like Rani and Govinda) grimace and bare their teeth at each other in public. Others (Aishwarya and Vivek) take great pains never to come together at any do. But one thing is for sure. These couples are unlikely to ever grace the silver screen together again.
Rani and Govinda
They've done quite a few films together the first one being Hadh Kar Di Aapne. None of their films was a huge hit but together they shared great vibes both on-screen and off it too. On the personal front, neither of them ever acknowledged their relationship. Then Rani signed Hum Tum, which was her entry into the Yash Raj camp. Rani moved on and Govinda returned home to his wife and kids. With Rani's impending wedding to Aditya Chopra the chances Rani-Govinda working together again are bleak.
Aishwarya and Salman
Their now 'infamous' relationship began on the sets of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. And unfortunately for the audiences it was their first and last film together. Chances of them ever signing a film? Yeah, maybe Abhishek Bachchan will produce it! 😆
Priyanka and Akshay
They've delivered some great hits together: Andaaz, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Aitraaz and Waqt: The race against time. But as rumours of their liason did the rounds, they abruptly stopped signing films together. Nobody knows why, but possibly Twinkle Khanna had something to do with it.
Aishwarya and Vivek
After Salman, Aishwarya was involved with Vivek but she didn't do any films with him. They did just one film together Kyon Ho Gaya Na and it was a complete disaster. And for 'obvious' reasons they are unlikely to work together again.
Kareena and Hrithik
Kareena zeroed in on Hrithik during the K3G days even though, he was already committed to Suzanne. The relationship was always under wraps one fine day Hrithik ended it and married his childhood sweetheart. Pity because the two of them were always a treat to watch.
Aishwarya and Shahrukh
Aishwarya and Shah Rukh rocked the screen in Devdas. In fact, she signed Chalte Chalte for SRK's home production shortly after. But there was a major fracas during the initial shoot and Ash was dropped like a hot potato. That was the beginning of a war which divided the entire industry into the Bachchan-SRK camps. So Devdas remains their first and possibly last film together.
Kareena and Shahid
Kareena-Shahid: Their romance blossomed even as they delivered one flop after the other professionally. And after box-office duds such as Fida, 36 China Town, they've delivered a smash hit Jab We Met. But they no longer work together and it's a great pity as they could have climbed to great heights. Maybe Amrita Singh could produce a film, with Saif and Kareena as the lead pair and Sahid could play the rejected lover. OH! And do add Abhishek Bachchan to this list. After all, even if viewers wanted more of them post Refugee, the acrimony between the Bachchans and Karisma put a stop to that.
