What goes around comes around. It seems Meera should think twice before making sweeping statements in public regarding her rivalry with Aishwarya Rai. After boldly commenting in an interview that "God knows what's wrong with the people in Pakistan who think so high of Rai, but in India the girl has lost all respect for herself", it seems Meera will actually be playing (drumroll) none other than, Aishwariya, herself, in an upcoming film.
Meera, who was launched by the Mahesh Bhatt camp will be seen playing the role of a 'manglik' girl, inspired by the life of Aishwariya Rai and her impending wedding with Abhishek Bachchan. The director, Neeraj Sahai is reported to have picked Meera to portray her Indian counterpart 'since Meera is considered to be the Aishwarya of Pakistan.' Ironically, Meera has explicitly stated, "She (Aishwarya) has been unreasonably vulgar in (her recent) movies. Although I don't think obscenity, as a requirement of the movie is immoral. Yet Ms. Rai has been unduly vulgar. She cannot come up to the mark of the likes of Shabana Azmi and Smita Patel." Having given up on the Pakistani film industry and taking the decision of focusing her efforts on Bollywood, Meera should reconsider maligning a reputable Indian actress.
Interestingly, while the world is rejoicing at the fairytale wedding of Abhishek and Aishwarya, Meera has expressed her reservations about the union. "Let me predict today that Aishwarya would be such a mark of disgrace to the Bachchan family that could never be washed away even with the holy waters of the Ganges." Expressing her deepest "concern and love" for the Bachchan family and their "young, innocent, and simple-hearted son" Meera felt that "Abhishek had been trapped and had taken the wrong decision for the rest of his life."
While professional rivalries are routine, especially in the entertainment industry; to take personal opinions and flaunt them to the press is considered the biggest faux pas one can commit. Thinking back, a great host of names of those who have been entangled in professional rivalries, come to mind; Kareena Kapoor, Amisha Patel, Priyanka Chopra, and more recently Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan. But never does one get the opportunity to read direct slander for a colleague. Instead, professionalism calls for an outright dismissal of press rumors.
Meera it seems is oblivious of the impact of her statements. Considering that she is a leading light of Pakistani cinema, it is little wonder that Lollywood is in the doldrums. And unfortunately with the work ethic she's picked up here, Meera will probably never make it in Bollywood.
sorry I don't know who this Meera chick is however she is pretty stupid to take shots at Ash,...meera: ash's rival,.....dream on😉
