Go : Movie Review

'Go' is a bland and unbearable thriller that tests your patience to the hilt.

'Shall I Go!' A thought of leaving the theatre flashed through my mind, already numbed by the inanity of this movie as it reached the interval point. But Go I did not! I stayed put, hoping for something miraculous on the screen to salvage the sinking movie. It did not happen.

I braved the torture of sitting through the entire running time of Go and saw its overstretched story arrive nowhere.

The movie, yet another production from Ram Gopal Varma's 'Factory' (or the Flop Factory as we should now call it) has Ramu's regular Nisha Kothari teaming up with a newcomer named Gautam Gupta .

The story revolves around two eloped lovers – brawny Abhay (Gautam) and busty Vasundhara (Nisha). On the sidelines is a power-hungry Chief Minister who kills his own deputy.

The only misfortune of Abhay and Vasu is they have the evidence of the CM's crime. Thereby begins a cat-and-mouse game in which – besides the brawny and busty – other characters are also embroiled: like a cop ( Kay Kay Menon ), a ruthless killer, and a conman (Rajpal Yadav).

'Go' plods through expected fights, chases and songs before coming to its obvious end.

Director Manish Shrivastava tries to spice things up with some skin show by Nisha Kothari. But overexposed cleavages can't salvage a mediocre movie. The film's ho-hum script, shoddy direction, senseless songs, loud background score and poor performances combine together to assault your senses.

The less written about performances, the better. Newcomer Gautam Gupta is forgettable. He is only good physique with hardly any talent inside. Nisha Kothari's acting is restricted to giving seductive, mean expressions or looking hounded. Kay Kay Menon dents his own reputation by taking up this role.

Don't go for this movie. Stay away.
