In came a struggling singer Shailendra Singh and the innocence of 'Main Shayar To Nahin' became a National craze. And the rest, as they say, is History. While Shailendra remained Rishi's voice for quite a while, Rishi himself occupied the teenage heartthrob slot from BOBBY in 1973 till as late as 1992, with RADHA KA SANGAM.
Cut to 2007, Bhansali zooms in on a new voice for SAAWARIYA, the debut project of Rishi and Neetu Kapoor's handsome son, Ranbir Kapoor. The lucky singer this time around is Shail Hada, whose voice not only has the youthful freshness but also the talent to conquer the troughs and crests. And if the initial overwhelming response to the title track of SAAWARIYA is anything to go by, Shail Hada may just become Ranbir Kapoor's Shailendra Singh!
