It was supposed to be a Shahid-Kareena package deal. But now Kareena Kapoor has signed a solo three-film deal with Ashtavinayak, with Shahid Kapoor nowhere in the picture

We hear that the Shahid-Kareena jodi has gone kaput. So has an important three-film film deal of theirs. Although there were reports about a package deal with Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor together, now it has been learnt that Ashtavinayak has signed a solo deal with the actress for three films and Shahid Kapoor is nowehere in the picture. Confirms a spokesperson from Ashtavinayak, "Now, there is a three-film contract with Kareena, but nothing with Shahid."

Shahid and Kareena were being looked at as a package deal by the film industry. The actors, who have their fourth release Jab We Met coming up, had apparently sent out feelers to the industry that they were ready to sign films together for Rs 3.5 crore.

But if rumours are true about their alleged break-up, it is definitely going to take a toll on their package-deal assignments. Informs an industry insider," Kareena, not so long ago, had been very concerned about Shahid's career. The two of them had even met producer Ravi Chopra for his latest comedy, which has just been launched with Govinda and Lara Dutta, but the deal didn't work out."

It maybe noted here that rumours about John Abraham and Bipasha alleged break up affected their assignments too. The two of them were no longer seen together as a package after that. In fact, ad commercials that hit the small screen featured them separately. Says a trade expert, "News of a break-up definitely affects actors' careers. Any amount of clarification does not really help."While there are rumours floating around that Shahid Kapoor has been depressed since the time reports of the alleged break-up has made headlines, a unit member from his film, Kismet Connection says, "Shahid is not at all depressed. He is fine and shooting for the film in Canada."
