Even as Ashutosh Gowarikar is working 24 x 7 to ensure that he can finish work on Jodhaa Akbar on time, sources close to the film say that the movie is in fact heading for a delay in its release. Jodhaa Akbar is scheduled to hit the cinemas on October 12th but it seems that it will now be heading into January.
"He is working every minute as he really wants to release the film in October but it seems impossible. Right now he is dubbing and editing at the same time but there is still so much left to do," explains the source.
Currently Ashutosh is editing the film while the film's heroine, Aishwarya, who is filming for Sarkar 2 in Hyderabad, is completing her dubbing there to save time. However, another song is still left to be shot. At the same time Ash can't leave her schedule in Hyderabad as soon after that shoot, she needs to leave for Europe to film The Pink Panther sequel. Hrithik hasn't finished his part of the dubbing either.

"Hrithik is in the dubbing studio practically every day. But it will still take some time. He should finish by early next month," says Hrithik's secretary.
To delay the release could pose a problem for the filmmaker at the box office as October and November will see the release of Lagaa Chunari Mein Daag, Dulha Mil Gaya, Saawariya, Om Shanti Om and Aaja Nachle. Both Ashutosh and UTV officials have maintained that they will meet the October deadline.
Considering that a large portion of work still left to be done on the magnum opus whether Gowarikar will be able to meet the October 12th release date deadline is still quite questionable?
