Starlet attempts suicide at Abhishek's gate

Mumbai, April 20 (IANS) A small-time actress, Jahnavi Kapoor, allegedly tried to commit suicide by slashing her wrist in front of Abhishek Bachchan's house here, claiming that he had jilted her.

In a hurriedly called news conference here, Kapoor, who had played a small role in Abhishek-starrer 'Dus' and had a dance number with the star, claimed that before Abhishek met Aishwarya Rai, he had dated her with promises of marriage.

The actress, with blood dripping from an allegedly slashed wrist, had reached the Bachchan bungalow after midnight Thursday, trying to force her way into the high-security Bachchan home Jalsa where pre-nuptial celebrations of the Abhishek-Aishwarya wedding were in full swing.

Sources said she was rushed to a local hospital for treatment.

The actress reappeared, apparently drugged, before the Bachchan bungalow Friday, to allege that Abhishek had ditched her.

'I tried to slash my wrist last night, unable to bear that Abhishek has ditched me to marry Aishwarya,' said the actress, whose left wrist was bandaged, in what was widely seen as a desperate attempt to gain some media publicity.

Well all Abhi fans are heartbroken but this attention seeker girl has gone overboard. Few members at I-F feels that it is a conspiracy hatched by Abhi's fan club to disrupt his wedding 😆 Investigations are on and I-F lawyer S.Priya is looking for evidence.

Woman attempts suicide to thwart Abhi-Ash wedding

Mumbai, April 20: In a bizarre incident, a struggling actress of Bollywood, attempted suicide outside Bachchans' residence Prateeksha last night alleging that Abhishek Bachchan had ditched her in love. She blamed Aishwarya Rai for snatching "her man" away.

Jahanvi, who featured in the promotional song of Abhishek Bachchan-starrer movie 'Dus', slashed her wrist in despair last night and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors put as many as ten stitches.

Jahanvi told media persons that she was Abhishek Bachchan's girlfriend and they were going around for ten months before Aishwarya came into the scene. According to her, she and Abhishek would meet regularly in Greenfield at Juhu and "were really happy" as a couple. She even alleged that they were physically involved and Bachchan Junior had promised to marry her.

"I no longer want to live as Abhishek has ditched me and is getting married to Aishwarya," said Jahanvi.

However, further investigations by the media revealed that Jahanvi is a Muslim and her real name is Sayeeda Haya Fatima. She was married to Kalbe Hussain, son of well-known Shia cleric Kalbe Sadiq, in April 1997 at Lucknow. However, they got divorced in the year 2000. Maulana Kalbe Sadiq is one of the leading Ithna Ashari Shia Ulema of India. He hails from a learned Shia family of Lucknow that has produced numerous scholars in the past.

Reports also suggest that she has a ten-year old son from her marriage.

When contacted, Jahanvi denied being married to Husssin and insisted that she in fact got married to Abhishek Bachchan in a secret ceremony in December last year. She also alleged that for Abhishek's love, she also gave up offers of several key projects of Bollywood.

While blaming Aishwarya Rai for her breaking her relationship with Junior Bachchan, Jahanvi said, "Aishwarya decided to produce Umrao Jaan only to get cozy with Abhishek and snatch him away from me." There seems to be holes in her story as Aishwarya was not the producer of the film.

She also alleged that Samajwadi Party leader and close ally of Bachchans, Amar Singh, had threatened to kill her and had even sent his men to ransack her car.

Meanwhile, the aspiring Bollywood starlet was arrested by Juhu Police after a case of 'attempted suicide' was lodged against her.

I saw the whole press conference that was covered live on TV... This girl seems to be suffering from some kind of mental block.. She was contradicting her own statements in a matter of few minutes..

Few Examples:
They asked how do u keep in touch with Abhy? Do u have his number? She said: No, he has been sending mails often, its only thro mails that i correspond.. Then they asked, what is his mail id? She said, i dont remember.. Actually i had written all numbers and ids and pwds in a diary. When i was at the net cafe, i went in to pass motion(this is exactly what she said), i came back and found that my diary was missing.. So i dont remember the id.. They asked, how could you not remember the id which you have been sending mails to, so often? She said, it did not have his name, had numbers 08 then 80 etc etc... She also said she is not James Bond to have a great memory..

Then after all this, they asked, when was it that she talked to Abhy? She then said she msged him lot of times, but never got his reply. They then asked, so this means you have his number... She then said, yes i have his number... 😆They asked for the number, but she said, i can give you the first half of the number but not the last half.. 😕

Later, when she said Amar Singh tried to blackmail her and even tried to damage her car, they asked, have you met Amar Singh? She said she has not met him.. Then just after few seconds, said, yes i have met him.. I have met him once at the airport, actually have met him many times... 😕

Her marriage photos were shown to her, she refused and said the person in the photo was somebody else.. 😳

The latest news is that, a close friend of hers, Simran has given a statement that "Jahnavi is telling lies, she wants to get the attention of the glamour world"... Now the latest is that, Jahnavi has been arrested for charge of "Attempted Suicide"...
