Sanjay Dutt and Trishala

Last month, a subdued Trishala flew down from New York to give moral support to her father Sanjay Dutt, as he awaited his sentencing in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case.

When she boarded a flight to return to the US last week, she had a big grin on her face. It had less to do with her father's case, and more to do with a big bling accessory, courtesy daddy dearest.

A source close to Dutt says, "Sanjay and his family have been regular visitors to this jewellery store in Bandra. Recently, he called the store and informed them that Trishala would be visiting and to put her purchase on his tab. Trishala came into the store alone and bought a solitaire diamond ring."

'Ear'marked

Another source adds, "Trishala visited Anmol Jewellers in Bandra and purchased a diamond ring. It was a one-karat diamond worth nearly Rs 3 lakh. She had even chosen a pair of diamond earrings to go with the ring, but they weren't ready in time for her return to the US.

Recently, Sanjay's younger sister Namrata came to the store and picked it up. Both of these are gifts from Sanju to his beloved daughter."

According to a staff member at Anmol Jewellers who didn't wish to be named, "Trishala is a very well-behaved and pleasant girl.

She was very polite to the staff and told them that she prefers elegant and simple jewellery. Apparently, Trishala adores Indian style jewellery and always shops for them when she is in the city."

Sanjay Dutt and his sisters have been frequenting Anmol Jewellers for more than a decade now. Ishu Datwani, the owner of Anmol Jewellers, preferred to be tight-lipped about Trishala's recent purchase from his store. "I would not like to comment on this," is all Datwani would say.
