Yeah but Karan made Sid lead in this. Gave him the girl too. He was trying to make Sid but Varun became the bigger star.

Varun is the better actor and got better critics... Karan was smitten by Sid's physical appearance, not by his acting skills.

In addition, Varun could relate on his directing father...Sid had only his beauty.

However, as RedChillies was co-producing SOTY (and both- Varun and Sid had been AD's for MNIK before), they saw something in Sid that they very well showcased in Ittefaq, because, whatever other members write, Sid is good in a certain kind of roles

Dang, the most unrealistic college drama and cringe movie with weird acting

The only one who actually showed some acting potential after this cringefest was Varun.

Remember watching it in theatre. I liked it for the songs and the glamour.
