He learnt to add a fun element from Kiran Rao i think. She told that first Lapata Ladies was a serious movie when she got the script. Another writer added some funny elements later.

I don't see the point of remaking a film like this. I like the idea of remaking it just so it starts a conversation. But they seem to have lifted the film as is and placed it in India as is. It doesn't even seem remotely adjusted to the cultural context. The only real change seems to be an excessive focus on Aamir instead of the team. Just lazy filmmaking.

I think that's the reason I'm not feeling it, it hasn't been adjusted to the cultural context. I think if they chose cricket instead it would have been better, here they are playing basketball which is not an indian sport

It's a good trailer with good comic element, but it does kind of give the story away and we already know what to expect from the movie with it being a lift. But given the lack of good movies coming out of the industry nowadays, this one will probably do well at the BO.

Whats the budget ? Anyone know ?

The Arabic remake changed it to Football, even that would have worked.

Apart from the scene where Amir bumps his car to the police car, I didn't like anything. Everything looked thanda. Amir's acting looked so fake & the jokes fell flat too. It was all so predictable and repetitive. This would have clicked in 2005, not feeling it in 2025.

Wow, never knew, the kids with Down syndrome can act so well.
