I have confusion about Raj's character from DDLJ

I have confusion about Raj's character from DDLJ. Before he meets Simran, he was a womanizer. he has affairs.

when Simran have misunderstanding about him after that drunkard night that he have played with her honor. That Raj says, "I'm not scum. I'm Indian. and I know what honor means for Indian girls. Not even in my dreams can I imagine doing that to you."

I mean, Huh!? Raj was after her for getting physical with her. He was flirting with her for that purpose. He was trying to coming close to her in the train. He was harassing (mentally and physically) her in the whole London journey. Even he was flirting with Sheena ( Simran's friend) for that purpose. In 'Mere khwabon mein jo aaye' song, they have shown Raj was giving lift to an Indian girl(of course only for that purpose!) Suddenly he changes his stand when he realizes that Simran is not that type of girl?

Raj's stand could make sense if he says that "I will not play with any Indian girl's honor without her consent"

what's say folks? .

I think that he is not that cheap womanizer like Harry from JHMS.

As a European with a quite open-minded upbringing, I did perceive Raj as a fun-loving guy, teasing girls and trying to charm them when they got responsive.

With Simran, he did the same but that isn't harassement to me as he didn't cross any line (imo)...in the contrary, I found him quite attentive and caring despite the teasing... and he genuinely fall in love with her during the trip (but made fun of it on the bridge when he noticed her reaction).

I think SRK never played a womanizer except in JHMS (although never with Sejal).

I won't agree with "playboy", neither in KKHH nor in Zamaana Deewana. But others may think otherwise

They should re-release the movie to see today's woke audience's reaction

He was a flirt but he won’t take advantage of Simran that night because she was drunk and that’s what he meant by what he said. He was just saying I know you wouldn’t sleep with me sober therefore I couldn’t do that to you. Maybe he realized early on Simran was a little different than his previous flings even though she was also raised in a western country. That’s what I understood from the scene.

I mean there is no point defending what's wrong is wrong and just moved on. 🙆🏻‍♂️

I still haven't managed to watch the movie beyond 20-30 minutes, have tried multiple times

Fortunately likings differ...you're not alone with not seeing something watchworthy in DDLJ (except the first 20-30 minutes)
