| It's just the end of the first month of the New Year and we are overdosing on a few Bollywood stories already! Everybody in the media seems to be following with moony-eyed devotion a handful of stars and if this is the state of affairs now, what will the rest of the year be like? Just a few thoughts… Could Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya quickly get married, so that media can take a collective breath of relief and match-make for someone else? Or every time 'Abhiash' are seen in public, we get pages and pages of gushy Mills & Boon prose on how many times they looked at each other and just how many sweet nothings were whispered. Could Shilpa Shetty please sign a film opposite Brad Pitt or marry a rich NRI? Any more of her "I am making my country proud" (with Big Brother, puhleeze!) might incite the army to revolt. After all only they really have the right to flag waving of the patriotic kind. Could Amitabh Bachchan please appear on the new Kaun Banega Crorepati, or do a joint show with Shah Rukh Khan on Koffee with Karan, so that it would put a stop to the endless 'jaani dushmani' speculations and all would be well with the world again. Can't have Bollywood 'Klans' with knives drawn under Armani sleeves! Would John Abraham just let one film go by without going all out to plug it and then get egg on his face with films like Karam, Zinda, Kabul Express, Baabul and Salaam-E-Ishq! (Now he says he won't do any more pseudo crap—but, exactly which of these films could be classified as pseudo?) Everybody in the cast of Water is going to get their share of sunshine from now till the Oscar ceremony, so brace yourself! Vidhu Vinod's Chopra's Eklavya had better be good, now that bits of it are being fed to the media everyday – like Ralph Fiennes dropping by to see the film and complimenting Amitabh Bachchan (as if Amitabh Bachchan needs any endorsement!) Will Sanjay Dutt decide whether he has married Maanyata or he hasn't – he can't keep admitting to being married one day and denying it the next. Would it be too much for Rakhi Sawant and Kashmera Shah types to actually do some films and earn the news footage they are getting? Bickering on Big Boss is hardly an achievement! And would some stylist take-up the case of Mallika Sherawat wardrobe – or she will spend the rest of her (and our) life being sued for obscenity by dudes with nothing better to do than measure the amount of skin she displays. |
