So, not something exciting?

I found the original exciting especially because of the partner-love-relationship of the strong leading couple...and the display of the corruption that makes some things extra-difficult in India (like Jawan quite revealing)...and in addition the power of the common men/women if they help each other in supporting the idea of a visionary for social causes.

(Imo, Chandu Champion had a totally different story, btw.)

Story wise different but same poverty struggles circumstances as villian with rawal as added flavour

It was based on low cost airlines started in 2003

Are those available in current times

I don't know about others, but Deccan operated only until 2008 and got merged with low cost Kingfisher Airlines whose owner Vijay Mallya fled to London after having made hundreds of crores in debts (2012).

Not m y thinking...

Maidaan didn't intice the interest to spend (a lot of) money to watch it in theatres (like it had been with 83) and Chandu Champion had been likewise.

If the filmindustry isn't able to follow the changing times, it's not the fault of the audience.

Also, one has to consider that the boxoffice should not be restricted to the local place as cineplexes all over the world have changed the income of a movie that gets a good distribution overseas (since almost 30 years already). Also certain tactics before the release (publishing advance booking numbers e.g.) aren't beneficial but more prone to cheating (imo).
