  • Lead actor or actress leaving the show just before romance track about to start(Karam Apna apna)
  • If my favourite jodi not getting along offscreen & refuse to give joint interviews or perform at award shows.
  • I am fine the if the hero behaves rudely with whole world, but when he is with his mother he has to be sweetheart (Sujal). If not i am not watching.
  • Overdose of trip & fall session, where lead actors look bored or disinterested.
  • Good looking actors but zero sexual tension is Big no..
  • Unkept face & sar wala hair, mumbling dialogues is major turn off..( ASR)
  • When they don't speak up when time comes..
  • Thanda SR.. No..i am not asking for explicit scenes, emran Hashmi type chummaa chamati bhi nahi, but little bit of romance doesn't hurt right..🥲
  • When they repeat same clothes even after marrying rich tycoon (Khushi) In RL I may repeat clothes, but I love it when lead heroine is wearing beautiful saree. I love it even more when lead hero is looking at her as if she is the most beautiful women in the world. If not, then end the show 🤭

PS. Whatever you guys have read till now are my teenage shallow self. Now I wear maturity ka chola 😊

  • The way I dropped Karam Apna Apna like a sack of hot potatoes the moment Iqbal Khan left the show. How on earth did Ekta Kapoor even THINK I was going to accept Yash Tonk, the desi version of Thomas the Tank Engine over Iqbal. smiley23
  • Unless the mother is a vamp, then I don't want the son to blindly worship his mum.
  • Thanda SR is a major pet-peeve. You're telling me Gurmeet Chaudhary can full on kiss during his Bollywood ventures but he would air-kiss Drashti with the peck of a peacock.

Just imagine you have to write box-office figures between Salman and SRK.

The essay will come flowing naturally. smiley36

Is there anything the heroine or hero does in a movie that puts you off from them?

Now this is fun!smiley36 Girl you are hilarious, as always! Had fun reading everything, was just waiting for THE Chandrachur brand shorts to appear and obviously it made it to this list.. smiley36

My attention span has always been very low (only while watching tv shows or movies) so before anything gives me the ick, there is a chance I may have dropped the show already.. So it's tough to point it out but I'll still try my best. 😅

- Leads with anger / daddy/ mommy issues. Can tolerate it only for a while for story's sake.

- Doormat female lead.

- Repeatative background score (Dabba wey, Mahiiiii). Chup kar jaaaaa..

- Melodramatic family members.

- Loud OTT bubbly female lead.

- Camera zooming in to capture expressions of all the characters present in the scene, set, country, universe!

Will come back if I remember anything else.. 😌

The only time I was totally okay with the lead having issues was when I found out Maan Singh Khurana hated women because his FIRST love named Samira had broken his heart. HERHERHER. I was both ecstatic and honoured. smiley14smiley36

My biggest ick about the desi TV dramas( both Indian and Pakistani) is the way the hero invariably ends up doubting the heroine’s character. 🥴

10 out of 10 times, the misunderstanding is caused by the hero's mother. smiley8

I've been alive and rotting for 32 years now. Believe me when I say the list is endless. smiley36

I went through a phase of watching Ekta Kapoor dramas when I was a teenager. A lot of the icky examples comes from her.

This song gives me so much secondhand embarrassment that I always look away until the cutie Salman starts playing the instrument. 😆

Biggest turn off is justifying toxicity. Like I don't mind if the character is toxic. I might not like him but that's not an ick either. What I hate the narrative justifying it. Like somehow its ok for characters to be toxic.
