Well it'll be hard for the film to do well in Punjab & Haryana because people down there actually know how Dunki/Illegal Immigration works and it's not people risking their life through the Pakistan/Afghanistan border. That would be ridiculous. It's taking a flight to a close enough country whose visa is either easily available or Visa on arrival for Indian passports. Like Fiji for Australia or the Carribean/Mexico for US/Canada, Jordan for Europe etc. And then trying to get into the countries through "Dunki" routes.

I'm not sure why Hirani is going around calling this film his first realistic film. It's anything but.....I hope people don't risk their lives trying to cross the Pakistan border like they started beating up women after Animal.

In overseas it will do well as it is the type of movie overseas audience likes. In Punjab/Haryana. I don’t think they into these kinda slow paced movies with boring music. Plus when they probably already have movies in own language made on the similar topic why waste time on this. Many have used the donkey method in real to come to Canada and USA so it might not even show it realistically. As Kiran said it might be some remake on some Punjabi movie.

Regarding Saalar its action packed still its not Gardar 2 or animal that would interest them much in my opinion or some big Hindi or Punjabi movie. Not sure how other south movies in Hindi did in this belt. So can’t say.
