Things work differently in Hollywood. PC is struggling there, and the struggle may continue forever; you never know. Lily Gladstone was about to retire permanently, having opted for a data science course after years of struggling and not getting anywhere until she got an email from Martin Scorsese for 'Killers of the Flower Moon,' and now things have completely turned for her. That kind of persistence and patience can be endured only by someone who doesn't have anything better going for them. PC wouldn't have left Bollywood either if she wasn't blacklisted by everyone here. Deepika or Katrina wouldn't go to Hollywood just to struggle for years when they have flourishing careers in Bollywood itself. As for Priyanka not being interested in stardom, well, that's a case of sour grapes for her, lol.

There are some actors who work in an industry just to get that cred under their belt. They don't hire an agency to represent them though. DP did.

With re: PC. It's undeniable that Hollywood has bigger reach currently. Korean movies and TV, too, but I don't think they hire non Koreans. smiley36 Hollywood also means more money. What's wrong with that ambition? PC ain't running a drug mafia or laundering money. She's just working hard. When did ambition become a dirty word?

Also, actors like Irrfan and Tabu were accepted by the industry without speaking like *them.* Not talking about box office success, but in terms of recognition by industry insiders.

Having a three-minutes cameo in Matrix is not a Hollywood movie career. The little Desi girl who cameo'd in Matrix 3 has more relevance in the fanbase. Deepika or no Deepika, Priyanka isn't earning more there lol

NRIs or second generation Desis relate much more to Dev/Mindy/Kal Penn/ Maithali/even Irrfan or Shah Rukh than they do with PC or Deepika.

Irrfan or Tabu never presented themselves either as the sole representative of India in the west or as Hollywood stars themselves. Every one of their ig post didn't feel like a ten-minutes lecture on India lol.

They knew they'd sought out as Desi actors foremost and they kept/keep on working here as well. Priyanka's PR and their PR are not comparable at all.

Deepika is enjoying her stardom in India. She is happy here. She tried in hollywood and it didn't work out for her.

Even SRK said he didn't want to go to hollywood. He said he would rather represent bollywood to the world.

It is wise decision for bollywood actors not to go to hollywood. Irfan khan also did small roles there.

If it is about earning money, that is okay. But they will not get stardom there.

Irrfan a) had a standing amongst global audience even if he wasn't a star like Shah Rukh or someone. He did great many arthouse films/shows their apart from the typical minor roles in blockbusters. He had been a part of the film festival circuit since very early on. b) hollywood producers did not cast him to tap into Indian markets like they do with bollywood stars; he wasn't a star here either.

His roles were also the ones that required serious acting chops. He is from the Soumitra/Om Puri/ Shashi Kapoor category of actors who worked in Hollywood (films).

I agree with what you say but Irrfan's career is not comparable to other actors from Bollywood. Most Bollywood stars would stop getting even minor roles if they lose relavance in Indian markets, I feel.

Who is saying PC is successful?

My response is to Deepika saying she'd rather remain in India because *country, patriotism* and not wanting to *speak like them.*

Nuh-huh. She tried. didn't work. Grapes are sour.smiley36

It's like American politicians retiring to spend time with family.

Nothing wrong in PC trying, whether she was successful or not. Honest/unvarnished ambition. How is that in any way dirty as long as she doesn't do anything illegal or unethical?

Whatever Irfan and Tabu were cast as, they were successful in being noticed for being actors, rather than access to Indian market. Which was all Deepika was in that movie. And she failed at thatsmiley36, too,
