Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer ‘Tiger 3’ gets banned from release in Oman, Kuwait and Qatar

Nov 10, 2023, 03:52PM ISTSource: etimes.in

Fans of Salman Khan have marked their calendars as the much-awaited ‘Tiger 3’ is all set to hit the big screens on November 12. Amid all the hype, there are reports stating the film is banned from release in Oman, Kuwait and Qatar. According to a news portal, the reason for the ban is the portrayal of Islamic countries and characters in a negative light. Emraan Hashmi who is the antagonist in the spy-thriller apparently plays the role of the leader of a global terror organisation that depicts Islamic countries in a negative light. While there is no confirmation on these reports, some fans also speculated that the ban could be because of Katrina Kaif’s fight scene in a towel. Notably, Akshay Kumar’s historical drama ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ had also faced a similar ban in Kuwait and Oman. The film which released in 2022 created a stir for allegedly 'distorting history' and 'hurting sentiments’ of the Muslim community. As for ‘Tiger 3’, the film is helmed by director Maneesh Sharma and is part of Yash Raj Films’ Spy Universe. It is fifth film in the franchise after ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, ‘War’ and ‘Pathaan’. Reports also suggest that Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan will be making cameo appearances in ‘Tiger 3’. It is expected to one of the biggest hits of this year as the response to the advance bookings has been massive. For more news and updates, stay tuned to ETimes.
