Strangely, I think she didn't belittle him, at least not in my thinking. To me, she made obvious that he was ready to let her the time to decide and to commit to him which not only shows a certain understanding but also his own emotional commitment.

However his facial expression shows that he wasn't happy that Deepika told it (the way she told it). But as these shows are scripted, it may have been simply because of the memories.
