Yes, this is the end of quality cinema. The only difference is who is talking in this context, a fan or a hater.

Clearly, a large percentage of audience disagrees with you on quality, or they wouldn't have been hits.

I agree with you on poor artistic merit of some films, but people enjoy it. So why not?

Also, the xenophobic comment about South based cringe films!🤦‍♀️ South also makes really rooted films with high artistic merit. Not the wannabe American crap Bollywood spits out.

Artistic quality even within commercial parameters.

Genuine, original and heart touching script.

Captivating and absolutely engaging water tight screenplay.

Timeless immense repeat value.

No that’s what OTT is for . Cinemas need a Jawan or Gadar to survive.

Cinemas used to have pakeezah, mother India, Mughal e azam, lagaan, HAHK, DDLJ, Rangeela, Kaun, Satya, Company, dhkmn, Viraasat, dil chahta hai, tere naam, bajrangi bhai jaan etc etc that were not only supreme quality films with immense repeat value but were big hits as well at the boxoffice.

All the parameters you mentioned are pretty abstract and subjective. I guess each to their own. All kinds of movies should be made and be able to coexist with each other letting the audience choose whatever they want to watch.
