I mean he survived it. Didn't die.

They didn't want to kill him but to make sure he would pay when demanded the next time.

I suppose that T-Series also has either to pay or to launder money. Gulshan had been shot by extortioners, too.

The intent was not killing RR (although a bullet was removed from his body by Sr Chunky Pandey) but to send the message that Shiv Sena, which had just been voted out can no longer protect BW.

Thackeray's then DIL had emerged as a credible, alternative to mafia as a film financer. The men were hired by ganglord Ali Badesh

And wasn't GG killed by Nadeem not extortioners

That's what I read about the killing of Gulshan Kumar:

"on 9 January 2001, Abdul Rauf Merchant (known as "Raja") confessed to being the murderer. On 29 April 2002, Sessions Judge M. L. Tahilyani sentenced Rauf to life imprisonment, stating that he was not imposing the death penalty because the prosecution had failed to prove that Rauf was a contract killer. The police alleged that Saifi paid Abu Salem, a known associate of Dawood Ibrahim, to assassinate Dua and assigned Rauf to the job, but it just so happened that Ibrahim and Abu Salem were already planning on murdering Dua as he had refused to pay protection money to D-Company as part of an extortion attempt." (Wiki)

As for Papa Roshan:

"On 21 January 2000, Roshan was shot at by two Budesh gang members near his office on Tilak Road at Santacruz West. ...The attack on Rakesh was not undertaken with the intent to kill, but to signal that the Shiv Sena could no longer protect its clients. Rakesh had stonewalled demands from Budesh for a percentage of the profits from the overseas sale of the Hindi all-time blockbuster; Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai." (Wiki)

Yes but Hrithik said it was a blessing in disguise. The bullet was lodged near the wall of his heart and the Doctors saw he had several blocked arteries. If he hadn't have been almost murdered he'd have died of a massive heart attack within months just like his father Roshan at around age 50. So we check it as a positive. Sort of. smiley3

That's interesting! You got to love ganglord Ali badesh (And people do, look at the smiley27emoji)

So that's why he sent two people to shoot at him, so his clogged arteries would be unclogged

And here I was thinking all these years that it was all about money and control

This seer had previously threatened SRK and said Stalin should be beheaded

Why is this guy not in prison?

Ha ha ha...well, from Badesh's side, it was certainly about "money and control"...but I loved that the outcome was life-saving (instead of deadly).
