My dad is very fond of building and maintaining his aquarium at home. Through his friends, he found out about a shop somewhere in Central Mumbai where they sell fish and aquarium stuff at wholesale prices. He went to the shop and the owner had come in for some work. They struck up a conversation, where the owner said his team has worked with many celebrities and industrialists for setting up their entire aquarium. He said most of his clientele are very nice and negotiate a win-win deal for both sides. But celebrities are horrible. They receive so much free stuff that they expect to get everything for free just because it has their name attached to it. Amitabh Bachchan's team gave him a big order and after installation they just refused to pay. They said it's Amitabh Bachchan's house, that's enough to bring more customers to his store and pay through goodwill. He told them it's not a bag or jacket that celebrities will be spotted wearing in parties and appear in social media. It's a tank setup worth many lakhs for one of his homes. Besides, the quotation was shared and the order was fulfilled only with the understanding that the payment will be done for it. He has been following up with AB's team for months but to no avail. It's sad when celebrities and/or their teams feel they are entitled to free stuff and genuine business owners have to suffer losses.

I feel bad. He should learn from this and ensure he takes 50-60% advance. And then take pics of stuff installed and use it to promote his business if they don't pay the remaining amount. That will teach them.

He should file a case if the bill was worth lakhs. What is he waiting for? 1 episode of KBC would be more than enough to pay for it.

Or just post on social media. Bad publicity should bring them back to earth.

There was similar trust me bro story about Jaya drinking at a bar/restaurant regularly and not paying them money.

Why are you setting up stuff or giving anything to anyone before you get paid?? It sucks if celebrities refuse to pay but you’re stupid if you do everything before you have at least some deposit.

There’s a special place in hell for people who have all the money in the world but still feel the need to swindle the lesser fortunate out of their hard earned money. Shame on the Bacchans! This should go viral.

On the contrary Ronit Roy explicitly told that Akshay Kumar, Amithabh and another celeb kept his CCTV business alive. Most actors pulled out of having them and paying subscriptions during Covid as they will be at home anyway. So his business wud have gone if it were not for the 3 celebs who said we will continue to support you as you have families you pay and they rely on their jobs.

Maybe the refusal is really based on something else like a dissatisfaction. I have learnt people already very very manipulative and can really twist things around and paint a different picture and narrative on things. I can't believe everything I read

So the CCTV business survived on just 3 celebs? That's a little difficult to believe.

Yeah, and dissatisfaction is not good grounds to refuse to pay. If I got a car and decided later I'm not happy with it, I still have to pay.

Unless the vendor didn't deliver, Bachchans cheated.
