I find Ranbir very controlling and toxic. He treats Alia like a glorified minion. He come across as extremely obnoxious. Worse is Alia comes across as not only dumb, but someone with low self esteem, star struck and "husband pleaser".

If the apology thing was for camera, then Ranbir went over board with it. It humiliated Alia.

While I agree with you, it's not so much Ranbir himself but what he represents. He's considered the Kapoor scion, the prince of the family. He is pedigree and lineage - those are what Alia gets and wants. The prestige of being a Kapoor.

I don't feel sorry for Alia at all. She's a shit person who made bed with another shit person. She knew exactly what she was getting into. I don't think she feels bad for herself, rather she must be prideful of the fact that SHE, not Kat or DP or any of the others, got to marry RK. Yes he's a middle aged cheating druggie, but those things were never important to Alia, were they? She obsesses over him in spite of those things.
