She was amazing in Raincoat. Quite good in Kandukondein and Chokher Bali. Good in a few scenes from Devdas ,Hum Dil De. But for the most part she IS hammy. And I also don't get why she's supposed to be a good dancer. She's mediocre at dancing and sometimes bad and it looks like a lack of training. Her movements in Dola Re Dola were weird. No sense of restraint. She should have trained more as a classical dancer because that kind of grace comes naturally to her ( watch her old interviews)

I have to add she was reaaaally good in that song from Jodha Akbar where she's worshipping Krishna and he walks In. She nailed the expression when she realises he's there. Again goes back to the classical thing. She tends to act well when she's in traditional clothes. The more westernised her character is the worse it is acting wise.

NO, but a plastic doll yes.

No, but she is not as horrifically bad as people make her out to be either. She was OK in Bhansali films, but she was really great in Raincoat and Provoked. Rest of the times, she is either average or cringe-worthy bad (in some ott comedy genre films).

No she is not a good actress but her looks, screen presence and dancing kept her around.
