He is correct in a way as it's always the women who save the marriage or put effort in making it work. Men are too careless and lazy.

Plus women always seem to get attracted to such guys who are damaged and need fixing, they never pay attention to the gentlemen who are actually worth the effort.

But going into a relationship or marriage with this mentality of "fixing him" isn't such a good idea, as you end up damaging yourself instead.

1 line generates all this dialogue, humans aren't cookie cutter robots, every relationship is different, every role is different in a marriage. why so much anger for what his relationship is. I have never seen him be rude to any female, even with kareena, he says the nicest things, with priyanka he was there when her father died, at her wedding reception. he jokes with vidya always at award functions. why the hatred when the actresses don't themselves ...all on blinds....and his wife was an adult, theirs was an arranged marriage, most marriages in India are arranged, they have babies in marriages, and he gets called out for being truthful about when he fell in love and that he had a baby after getting married? and the gazillion year difference is there in so many marriages. ritesh was probably dating a teenage genelia.....

my family is famous for giving more importance and freedom to girls compared to my brothers, I cannot thank enough to get such a liberal father that I have who always made me feel so special and even my brothers are saying this in joke that they r jealous as they wish they were girls as me and my sisters always get more then them, more love importance freedom choice and how an ideal liberal father can treat her daughters in every way... even my brothers r gems and so open minded and great we all r like buddies and there was no concept of gender or who is who while growing up till now.. we all have been treated as equal humans by both of our parents mashaallah. 😇

Well I am not bashing shahid he just speaks about his experience but his defination of marriage is not right. My mother is a housewife still after seeing my parents all I can understand is your life partner is everything and without them your nothing. In the same way my mother and father are nothing without each other❤️. Both of them support each other in tough times and are a strong support for each other❤️. Hence the definition should be,"marriage is about two individuals being in mess but still fix each other and would do everything for each other's happiness"❤️

I don’t know what to make of his statement or what kind of a relationship he shares with his wife but the family where I come from, my mother and father both equally make efforts to make it work, try to “fix” each other whenever they are a mess, bring a balance in each other’s lives. Human beings, irrespective of their gender, age etc etc aren’t perfect. Marriage is a life long commitment and it takes two people to make it work, both go through struggles of their own. It’s neither a man or a woman’s job to fix their partner, love and respect for each other is enough and it’s also true that a lot of carefree people change when responsibilities are brought upon them and they start a family of their own.

it's obvious Shahid is talking about ONLY ONE ASPECT of marriage that too NOT IN EVERY COUPLE 's case but only for himself in a playful way giving credit to his wife and calling himself an idiot in a fun way...

But people here have loads of venom and self pity in themselves, they can only view things in a very dark, poisoning, negative and uber serious way ready to cut a male in smallest pieces possible for their out of context one liner and keep crying with one sided negative essays laced with traumatic self pity and hate for the other gender.
