It's history..the climax is the truth happened..That Raja Raja choza will not take the the throne, instead make his cousin brother mathuranthagar to rule..because RRC was a warrior than a king..he comes to power only after 15 years of ruling by mathuranthagar.Originally posted by: monu_tan

Btw,Nandhini, poonguzhali and Nambi are not real people. They didn't exist in real..they are novel characters. Athiya karikalan was killed in his sleep by toxicated knife..who killed him no one knows until 15 years later when RRC comes into power and ordered an investigation and found out that four people from his court are responsible and they helped pandya clans.
So in Tamil everyone read the book 50 years back and all knew the ending..all waited to see it big screen. Its a five part novel. So it won't upset the audiences who knew this history.
heard aishwarya rai has a really important role in the second part

They will have another sequel right to show RRC ascending to throne? I knew that RRC won’t become the king right away. Then it’s not unexpected lah.
No dear, the story ends here! There is no another part..There are many old movies which showed the life of King RRC. People had seen enough. In PS 2 ending itself they mentioned that RRC thrones after 15 years .so no more extensionOriginally posted by: monu_tan

Aishu Janu has done good .. superb .. her Botox was showing though 😆
Best performance of hers after Jodhabai IMO🥱
Vikram stole the show .. phenomenal
Trisha had limited role but she has great screen presence. The bandar looking guy was less annoying in this one even though he had his annoying moments.
The other two gals esp shobitha are wasted .
who is bandar looking guy?Originally posted by: MrChatVsNorway

Karikalan and Nandini's longing for each other was palpable. I really loved the chemistry between Aish and Vikram.❤️❤️Powerful screen presence! Just the way they were in Raavan.
It is not a full fledged history, like many believe it to be. Many characters are fictional. The main character Nandini is fictional. The original author Kalki Krishnamurthy only took the liberty to portray Karikalan as someone who had loved and lost and spinned it around the fictional character of Nandini. But yes, the assasination of Karikalan, in reality, was done by the sympathizers of Pandyas.
Will refrain from giving out much here. Just that the movie is worth the time and money. PS is one such literature which many wanted and even attempted to make a movie of it back during the days of Sivaji Ganesan and MGR, but obviously couldn't succeed. Mani Ratnam did that and how!! 👏👏
definitely a treat to watch..Originally posted by: Mirage09
