Who is the better actor, bigger star, more charismatic presence between - Rishi Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor?

Okay okay I vote for Rishi.. skinny rishi looked pretty snazy disco dancing in some songs.. but even fat rishi beats Ranbeer ...looks and acting..

Rishi Kapoor. Although he did plenty of second fiddle roles but he is far better actor than Ranbir.

I was more active in 2013-2015.

Anyway I also chose Rishi because I think he is better looking, very cute when he was young, has adorable screen presence, a childlike charm when he was younger, danced really good, is good in romance, drama and action (saw him in Hum kisi se kum nahi and he was good) and is a more natural, easy going, entertaining actor compared to Ranbir whose acting seems a bit more serious, heavy and laboured. Ranbir never seemed like a relaxed or effortless performer to me. I cannot imagine him to justice to role like Akbar Allahabadi and fit in crazy universe of Manmohan Desai. I also think Rishi has way better comic timing than Ranbir.

Ranbir's hair seemed fake to me from day one as if it was a bad hair transplant job. Rishi had better hair.

Though commercially I think Ranbir has done better as solo hero and attempted riskier, more versatile subjects than his dad. But overall I like the dad and find him cuter, more entertaining and less laboured as a performer. Rishi had easy going, natural, effortless charm about him, hardly took himself too seriously as an actor.

Why pitch them against each other...Rishi was Rishi...Ranbir is Ranbir, just happening to be the only son of Rishi and Neetu... I find those comparisons unfair, because Ranbir is - most probably - in the middle of his career...

When you want a comparison, atominis, why not between Raj and Rishi? Or isn't that popular enough for IF members?

But people online are less likely to be aware of Raj, Shashi, Prithviraj, Shammi's work so I chose Rishi and Ranbir.

I thought a series would be fun.

Ranbir is not that young or junior now and his work from early years can be compared to work of his dad in early years, work style, choice of films etc.

Also, their comparison is easier and interesting and not as black or white and almost obvious as say, Hema vs Esha or Amitabh vs Abhishek. Ranbir does have talent and BO success and is not a total washout that he cannot be compared to dad.

He is one of very few star kids who can be compared to own dad unlike others who cannot even be mentioned in same sentence as dad.

I prefer Rishi after year 2000 over Ranbir and Raj Kapoor as well. Raj Kapoor was a decent actor, nothing great, but had star power like Ranbir. Rishi lacked star power but was damn good once he started doing age appropriate roles.

I would say among all Kapoors, Raj held greatest star power and sway/hold over masses and ability to connect to masses.

Totally unmatched ability to connect to masses at his peak. Ranbir has greater star power than dad but is not like Raj. I would say even Shammi had greater star power than Ranbir in 1960s when he was giving hits aftee hits despite his flabby physique and people lapped up whatever songs and dances he dished out with girls half his age.
