I honestly think more than Neetu, it was RK who screwed up the relationship with Deepika.

I dont believe Neetu or anyone for that matter thought they would get married as they both started out and RK was touted as the next big thing.

For all we know, it was never as serious to RK as it was to DP who got a tattoo carved on her back and was ready to give up career to become the devoted wife.

They had fundamental differences in how they wanted to go on in their lives.

With Katrina, as some people said, she doesn’t have a legacy or family wealth. Also, it’s RK more who screwed up.

With Alia, well Ranbir was almost 40 and no new actresses were shining as much as Alia and everything else checked out.

I have read a biography of late JFK Jr and he was a serial cheater. He had confided in a friend that he didn’t really get off on cheating or didn’t wanna ruin relationships. But he was used to falling off the wagon and thus ruining relationships.

RK seems like that to me. He cheats not because he wants to or likes to or wants to spite his current partners, it’s just who he is. Essentially falls off the wagon

Because Alia is younger, childish, easy to dominate and manipulate and is fascinated by Ranbir unlike Deepika and Katrina who were headstrong and closer to his age and self made and never pampered childwomen or spoon fed nepo babies.

Neetu herself used to be dressed in adult clothes and sent to rooms of producers as child star and is no Sati Savitri oe khandaani elite herself.

She probably kept judging other women due to own insecurities and also fear of losing control over her son.

She now realises RK is too old anyway and not giving many hits nor is as successful as Alia nor will get more younger bimbos to fall for him in coming years and cannot go around using and dumping heroines at whim. He is no Salman Khan.

Alia is non threatening to Neetu and Riddhima who call her childlike and cute. This playing dumb strategy has helped her get acceptance and the mother and sister know she will not steal their son from them.

If one of the criteria was to have a pure pavitra family then both Neetu and Alia families are apavitra: The former through her mother pimpimg her out and the latter through courtesan's blood (Mahesh Bhatt's grandma was a courtesan and his mother was a mistress. Even Alia's mother is a mistress, going by law. Plus Alia's brother had link with terrorists).

Being someone suffering from Jocasta syndrome, Neetu would never let her son get married to someone the son wants or loves. So Neetu would rather pick a girl whom her son didn't pick.

Wow, never heard all these stories but Alia’s brother had link with the terrorists? What did he do?

Sometime between Katrina and Mahira there were rumors that Neetu was spending time in Delhi and London looking for a suitable industrialists’s daughter for Ranbir. I guess no one took the bait.

With Deepika I think both were young at the time, and the Kapoors were still under the assumption that their golden child and crown prince was too good for someone of Deepika’s status or stature 🙄. I do wonder if today’s Deepika was ever an option for them if they would still have the attitude they had in the late 2000s?

The Katrina vs Neetu rumors are quite ironic because Neetu’s own childhood and early days in the industry were allegedly quite problematic as well.

Kat and DPad are outspoken and headstrong women.

I bet Neetu and Riddhima did not like them or found them dominating for their raja beta/bhaiya.

Kat has hustled like no one else.

She knows her shit. She can manage on her own.

Alia has a dependence and vulnerability that Kat and DPad do not.

Kapoors are regressive and old school that way and wanted someone docile IMO. Alia being much younger than RK and in awe of him, is non threatening and easy to control option for both Riddhima and Neetu.

Also I think Alia getting pregnant with RK's kid had a role in marriage being finally fixed. Alia probably did not want to abort so Kapoors also agreed for marriage.

RK must have thought he can fool around later like Kapoor men kept philandering even after marriage and kids. So probably decided to marry Alia and keep the baby too.

Ranbir was flopping. Marriage with Alia has got him more limelight and slew of new ads, talk shows, made him viral sensation once more.

RK and Alia ads are all over TV now.

Indeed Kat and Deepika got better husbands and in laws who do not keep them chained at home nor expected them to downplay or change self or own status and career.

Deepika has total freedom and supports any cause or takes any issue she wants.

Dresses any way she wants and is still career oriented and not made to pop out kids or leave work after marriage or cut down work or dim her own shine for her husband.

Kat has a husband who is besotted with her. And is still working. Speaks freely. Does not downplay her stature as bigger star.

Deepika and Kat do not need to act childlike or pop kids. They stand shoulder to shoulder with their husbands and do not need to be held or carried by husband like a child woman. Neither did they change their surnames post marriage or do papad belna to impress in laws before marriage.

Nonsense. The Kapoor women broke the unofficial ban against working in films after marriage from the Karishma-Kareena era. Neetu willingly chose to give up films post-marriage since she was sick of working non-stop from childhood. Most of them who start out early do so - like Nargis,Sridevi etc.

Kat's sketchy background would give any traditional MIL another thought. Can't exactly blame Neetu. Even Jaya did the same about Karishma. Granted the same things have been rumored about Neetu and Karishma. But they were children who had domineering mothers running the show. It was not about free choice. But Kat did it to herself if the rumors are true and she was not a minor.
