Exactly ? Compared to Manisha in Lajja.

Kajol was part of the clique. Its sad. The consolation I guess is she has since been tossed aside 😆

Lagaan would have been sidelined too if it was not nominated at Oscars.

They sidelined a mega hit like Gadar and also sidelined Chandni Bar and DCH.

Only to give undeserved awards to K3G.

Scene of the year that year was clearly the one where team wins match in Lagaan. Yet Filmfare gave it to the K3G one.

All awards are total sellout and purchased by YRF, Dharma and often even held at YRF studios.

I dont think FF sidelined DCH for K3G. A quick check will show DCH actually won 7 awards to K3G's 5 at that ceremony

Scene of the year shouldve gone to DCH imho

Let me ask you this. Do you think had Diljit been present during promotions of his film and not abroad doing concerts it would have had an impact. Does he just lack star power ? I know in the west PR campaigns to market your film as an award winning film go a long way. Here they are just fixed. In reality no amount of PR campaigns or public pressure can make a difference. But Jogi really wasn’t promoted at all. Forget going to shows like the kapil sharma show it was a very successful director promoting it with relatively little face recognition. That’s why people who are in front of the camera in movies and not behind it should get the task of promotion. Because even the people who are not your fans will probably recognize your face from somewhere and probably more intrigued by what you have to say. Needless to say there is much better chance of getting people who might not be die hard fans or watch your films otherwise be convinced to watch it. If you manage to convey that it is a film worth watching.

Despite terrible pre-film promotions Jogi still managed to trend on top film on Netflix india globally and of course number 1 in india for days. But that was hardly marketed as well other Bollywood OTT successes.

Diljit and others were def disinterested in promoting and marketing the film. But would that made a difference? A part of me thinks not. Bollywood award are too corrupted. And Diljit is neither a big enough star to be a must have at award functions or nor is her a part of the YRF or Dharma insiders club.

K3G despite being good in its own lane of an escapist luxurious, family drama. And a childhood fav actually was not award worthy by any means. Especially not compared to Lagan or DCH

Between the 3 DCH is my favorite. Ajnabee was a nice entertaining movie of 2001 and it was ignored totally

20th IIFA Awards in 2019 was a good pre-pandemic throwback time. 😃
