Priest hails Big Brother's Shilpa Shetty as role model Jan 29, 6:47 am

A priest in Ballyshannon has used Celebrity Big Brother to reach out to his parishoners at the weekend.

Fr Frank McManus who celebrates mass at St Joseph's Church The Rock in Ballyshannon urged children to follow the example of winner Shilpa Shetty if they want to lead a good life.

He compared her modest clothes with the "in-your-face" outfits of the other women in the show.

He pointed out that she spoke English better than the English girls on the programme.

He also praised her for the way she represented her country.

He was speaking to sixth class students who are preparing for their confirmation.

He felt the other contestants were on the show just to save their careers and make money.

He told the children to remember that in whatever they did they would be representing the interests of other people, whether it be their families, school or Church.

i think it is great that shilpa shetty is presented to be such a gracious lady and a respected person... so much so that people are looking at her as a role model for youngsters...

shilpa shetty has truly made india and indians in the world very proud!!!!😊

shilpa truly showed character and decency!... she was very strong enough to go through all of that drama that the others created... her qualitiles do serve as a very good example for a lot... i think she won, not out of sympathy but cuz of her grace, honesty, patience, decency, brains, kindness and her overall very good character! 😊
