Shershah and Udham singh are direct OTT releases and 83 is theatre release if i am not wrong, so both awards platform are different...

So there was no much competition, i guess so Ranveer is the obvious choice and more over he was indeed very good in 83...

Heck he even got 'Maharashtrian of the year' award twice.

He is shamelessly buying awards and his PR is on an overdrive to hide the disaster called 83, and Jayeshbhai ... Also he is the lead of Karan johars next movie , so Karan might also be influencing the wards..

Never forget that Alia won Filmfare for Gully boy . They have no credibility ..

When ranveer appears at these award shows he entertains, he performs, he gets the audience on stage and people have alot of fun with him. He recently danced with neeraj chopra at an one of the awards events, so people really like having him at these events

Plus, he gave a very good performance in 83, so its not like he gave a terrible performance and doesnt deserve it, some of the awards were for entertainer of the year, and ranveer sure knows how to entertain

If Sid can get nominated for Shershah then sure as hell Ranveer can win one for 83. A doorknob can emote better than Sid M. These awards also factor in popularity and endorsements and how active someone is publicly and RS tops all of those categories.

83 was a theatrical release. That is the main reason for it being a hot favourite at these awards. Another major factor is that Ranveer is omnipresent these days. He brings in attention and eye balls to these events. People are always discussing him n these shows even if it is to bash them. And marketing ka sirf ek hi rule hai "Jo dikhta hai wohi bikta hain".
