Sach bolu toh people don't even watch ads these days. Either they change the channel or get busy with their own stuff when these ads are running. People have seriously lost it. How is this ad threatening any religion? It is just a simple ad, where the guy goes to the girl's place instead of the other way round. People getting overtly sentimental about such teeny tiny things is a proof of joblessness and nothing else. Har choti baat se darr jaate hai ki hinduism ko villian bana rahe hai.

Aamir is looking young for his age- yes but he is no way looking like a young groom. Kiara deserved Sid, Karthik, Varun. They would have given a warm look at the ailing parents than a Thakur pratap looking Aamir and there would be no controversy- at this point Junaid could have have done it🤪

It is not religions that are threatened. It is patriarchy that feels threatened when their practices which made them feel entitled and superior, are turned on their head.

The issue is not Hindu or Muslim. The issue is why man moved to house of woman after marriage.

Indian media has always shown ghar jamai as an insult or matter of shame. To show it in positive light by top stars hurt fragile male egos.

And they are scared what if women start demanding the same or some man agrees to do same. Women already do question why only woman should leave her home after marriage. This custom challenged even in a 5 sec ad made patriarchy wet its pants.

Agreed. I truly could not understand the criticism about this ad insulting a religion or rituals, at all. From where I see it, the guy just does not mind moving in with the girls' family because clearly the girl wants to take care of her father. One can see that it was a mutual decision taken before marriage, the fact that people are scandalized about it just makes me chuckle. Why the shock? It is just fine! A lot of people are now over the whole "ladki paraya dhan hoti hai" jazz. People don't realise that a lot of rituals which we follow now have been evolved over time and have been tweaked a little for our own convenience.

Worldwide, women move to hubby's home after marriage.

Ad is using that idiotic tradition in a Hindu majority country. That's it.

Using other religions in this context would be as silly as using this same ad in the U.S. with a Hindu couple.

I can only think religion is being dragged in as misogynists don't appreciate their dictates being questioned.
