Also, I forgot to mention but Khalnayak, Sadak, Bombay, Zakhm, 1947 Earth, Agneepath, Chachi 420, Salaam Bombay, Daman, Dushman, Border etc were also awesome.
Otherwise romantic fare of 90s is passable. JJWS was also a good coming of age flick.

Salaam never crossed my mind ( I wrongly thought it from parallel era) . Now that reminds me of parallel cinema of 70s-80s with grounded,realistic movies with ensemble cast of Naseeruddin , Om Puri , Amrish , Shabana , Smita , Jaffrey (Saeed) etc. that tapered out in 90s .
