Watched it today and I thought it was mind-blowing.
I loved the theme - Vikram Betaal - and how they used that story to set a framework for the movie.
I think HR played a phenomenal job as Betaal. He really brought life to his character and you could see it in his eyes and every frame he was in that he was this mad man who enjoyed every moment of whatever he was doing - be it killing enemies, being with his brother, dancing to Alcoholiya (fascinating moves IMHO), or conversing with Vikram. There was something crazy and bewitching every time he appeared on the screen.
Saif as Vikram had two main roles - a romantic role as a husband (rare), and a serious role as an officer. I think he played both parts pretty well, but I kinda felt that his acting was a bit stale (like other roles he played in the past). He still did a great job whenever he was on screen, and I don't think he had as much of a "character" as Betaal.
Radhika Apte was Radhika Apte. Love her, so bias towards her so aur kuch nahi kahoonga 😆. She didn't have much of a role to play, but whenever she was on the screen, she performed well.
The movie definitely keeps your attention, there are unexpected twists, and Hrithik is just OH LA LAAAA (in an acting way. He wasn't supposed to look good in this movie). Definitely one of his best performances.
My only qualm was the climax - the fight scene just felt rushed and a bit meh. The ending was definitely fascinating and a good cliffhanger to what may come next (which would be nice if BW can come up with an original story and not continue the Vikram Betaal theme)
Overall: 4.5/5 stars. Definitely go watch this film. You'll enjoy it and you won't feel bored or lost.
