Oh really? But I read somewhere Vinod was trained at FTII.

I know Shatru, Danny, Jaya were also FTII products.

But I agree Vinod was fabulous in all kinds of roles be it urban, NRI, villager, hero or villain. Today's plastic boys lack his personality and aura and talent. All they can do is useless manchild roles.

Word to your post!

Even Ramya K has an aura.. the swag with which she carried her roles in Padayappa and Bahubali 🔥

Ramya is a queen and always has imposing screen presence. She was the only actress who matched aura of Rajinikanth and in some scenes upstaged him also in Padayappa.

She was highly noticeable in Chaahat, Criminal also.

She is excellent in strong woman roles.

they cant... entire bolywood is rotten to the core in the name of casting couch, drugs... etc..

Casting couch and drugs are in South too.

But I agree Bollywood has been making crap for many years now.

I cannot imagine them making thriller like Ratshasan either. Such a pure thriller, edge of the seat quality with no distractions of heroine, hero, romance, comedy shit.

Bollywood ruins even remakes. I daresay I liked Surya better in original Ghajini than Aamir in remake.

Kirron is highly overrated and OTT actress and is like a possessed madwoman in Devdas. Unbearable tbh.

Bhansali movies is all about gloss, glamour and chandelier 😆

And big curtains, carpets, actors draped in clothes that look like carpets or sofa covers and same old theme of two people in love with one person. Except Black.

I am not bashing Bollywood nor having South vs Bollywood debate. I am talking about ability of Bollywood to make good historical, period films, mythology or Indian fantasy.

Bahubali was superior to anything Bollywood made post 2010. And is easily superior to any period film made by BW post Lagaan and JA.

Somehow actors never become characters in BW period films. And their films lack rootedness that South based period films have.

It is specifically about films of this genre. Not overall content.

Otherwise I am yet to see RDB, Pink, TZP, DCH, Black, Border, Sarfarosh, CDI, Swades, 3 Idiots, Munnabhai series, Kahani, Thappad, Article 15, Queen etc made in South.

Though Southern films of late are way better even in taking serious issues. Jai Bhim is example.

Bollywood made Mughal-e-Azam years back, which is a milestone for historical films.

I already specified it that it is about post 90s Bollywood.

Otherwise BW earlier had fine period films like Mughal e Azam, Anarkali, Meerabai, Lagaan, Jodha Akbar.

Current BW seems to lack capability to make good period films given how trash Panipat, Prithviraj etc were.

Is comparison with Bahubali necessary?

BW has a few films in recent years which South films can't match & vice-versa for a few South films.

Yes in context of period films, Indic fantasies and mythology the comparison makes total sense. Trailer of PS1 is also amazing. Never seen something like it from BW in decade or so atleast in this genre.
