Also the one of the very few who has real aesthetic sensibility in BW, is Twinkle Khanna. Gauri Khan’s “aesthetics” are so tacky & crass, it’s always been so weird to me how all these stars hire her (clearly b/c they want to in SRK’s good books) but how can they let their homes look like that???

Am not saying that having SRK for your husband doesn’t have detrimental effect, it does, but on the whole when weighed against what they have; it’s pretty much nothing.

Most * wives just don’t have an identity of their own & never will. Kudos to Twinkle Khanna for atleast having some talent of her own & doing very well for herself.

I don’t know other Bollywood wives as I don’t know them much. But Gauri stayed and maintained house and raised kids. She has fully equal rights on what SRK makes. She is the woman behind SRK. SRK would’ve struggled if not for having the support and encouragement from his family. They both have supported one another.

It is quite a stretch, you know? I don't recall Gauri claiming that she is "self-made", Even Mukesh Ambani isn't "Self-made" by any definition of it. Gauri was the only profitable member of Mannat during lockdown, according to their CA as disclosed by Karan Johar. I believe, she is doing good for herself and her family

The Gauri Khan brand has credibility and exposure only with SRK’s name. Some of her designs are good some are underwhelming. I didn’t like what she did to SidharthM’s house sometime ago
I don’t know why Maheep Seema and Bhavna are considered businesswomen. At least the kardashians have their own successful businesses

I have very little respect for the Kardashians because their initial publicity came from a sex tape. Also the money that came from their real father who was a elite lawyer and headed the OJ Stimson trial helped. I mean all the publicity and buzz their reality show created they managed to quadruple their fortunes. So credit there. I am sure none of these housewives have managed to quadruple her husband’s fortune.

That said, if their husband's star status or money helped them in their career, they have full right to use it. These women gave the best years of their life to their home, family and children. And if now, they want to make a name and their family somehow helps them in that goal, it's their right

As for Gauri, she's among the major reasons Shah was able to stand up again post his mother's death . She has a huge role to play in his success . And if his success helps her now, it's actually a small reward for dedicating her whole life to her family

And since she's earning quite well, I am guessing she knows her work at least a bit.. even being Shah's wife can get you so far. She works more than just on celeb's houses so kuch Thora bohut tou ata hoga

If there is one wife who deserves to reap the benefits of her husband's success it is Gauri.....She married Shahrukh when he was a nobody.....she married him out of her love for him...she almost went against her family although they did expect him....but Hindu-Muslim marriage was not an easy thing for normal families back in those days...it still is.....She has seen very tough times when SRK was struggling in Bombay....no place to stay they managed with whatever little they had.....she provided that emotional support to him.....the two of them in their wildest dreams would not have thought that SRK will see the phenomenal success that he became......Yes so she deserves everything that she is......People can say what ever they want ...snicker at her business....and think that it all comes very easily to her......yes SRK has a big hand in it ....but She and her kids will always be overshadowed having SRK as their husband/Dad....every little thing that they do will be snickered at that it happened because of SRK...which is true....but that doesn't mean that they didn't work for it....and that is exactly what Gauri was saying....the drawbacks of having a famous family member...its not that she doesn't recognize SRK's contribution...she does....has done several times before also..

I also wont recruit my boss's kid to design my home

if I am spending my hard earned money, I would want somebody whom I can be on an equal footing with and state my opinions frankly

from what I have seen Gauri's style is her own, she is basically recreating SRK and her home's style for the client, so it is for that select client who want to boast that Gauri designed their place and feel like they are living in Mannat

check out any home design handle on insta, clients want their own style budget accomodated, a 750 sq ft home in bombay within a budget, a natural sustainable home in coorg... the aesthetics are totally different and a designer should meet it

if Gauri can grow to be that then clients may come to her, I am not sure she is trained or oriented towards that
