Why are film scenes nitpicked selectively? I hear a lot about billa no. 786 in Deewar but why do trolls and news anchors forget that Amitabh returns to same temple in front of Lord Shiva's idol at end of movie, begs for life of his mom and she does indeed get saved and he also bows/yields only in front of mom and God?
Why people bash Amitabh or Salim-Javed, Manmohan Desai etc but forget that it is Goddess Bhawani locket which saves Amitabh's life from childhood in Parvarish and saves him from bullets and bomb blasts and he always kisses that locket for being his protective shield?
Rajesh Khanna also did a film called Maalik in which he plays a Lord Krishna devotee whose all problems are solved in life and even his dead baby is brought back to life by Lord Krishna. He and Shabana were also in a film which had Chalo bulawa aaya hai song and showed how yatra to Vaishno Devi shrine saved his son's life.
Lord Krishna's miracle is shown to reunite Salman and Madhuri in HAHK. Madhuri and Jackie are Lord Ram devotees in Khalnayak. K3G and DDLJ single handedly popularised Karva Chauth among even unmarried couples and non Hindus. Puneet Issar, Sunny Deol pray to Guru Gobind Singh ji and Sunil Shetty prays to Goddess Durga for strength to fight in war in Border. Ramsay Brothers' films and shows always showed Om symbol and Lord Shiva, Ma Durga, as symbols ghosts were scared of and lost power in front of images of God.
Raakhee is Lord Shiva devotee in Ram Lakhan and Soldier and Goddess Kali devotee in Karan Arjun and her prayers pay off, she gets karmic justice. Seeta is Lord Krishna devotee in Seeta aur Geeta and Geeta is supposed to bring her and their old grandmother justice. The Bhagavad Gita theme is there for justice in Seeta Aur Geeta too. Vinod Khanna is a Lord Hanuman devotee in Hera Pheri. Shatrughan Sinha and Danny Denzogpa are Goddess Kaali devotees in Kaalicharan. Rekha takes inspiration from Goddess Chandi in Phool baney Angaara and Anjaam also invokes Goddess Chandi when Madhuri takes on villains herself.
There are plenty of examples of Indian films showing faith, devotion, power of miracles and Hindu gods, goddesses in great light, and not just atheism or showing other religions. Rather Bollywood has always shown Indian festivals, gods, customs in greatly positive manner with sindoor and mangalsutra also saving life of husband or protecting a woman etc (80s films were full of power of sindoor, mangalsutra), power of Raksha Bandhan thread saving a man's life, power of sacred lockets and symbols of gods.
Why are there even TV anchors spreading canards, selectively cherry picking films and scenes to claim Bollywood insults Hinduism or promotes other religions? Rather entertainment industry has popularised Hinduism and Indic festivals, rituals more than any preacher. If even non Hindus celebrate Hindu festivals today it is thanks to Indian films and TV showing grand depictions of these festivities.
