Highway, Udta Punjab, Raazi, Gangubai, Darlings... other than SOTY and a few movies in the beginning (and Kalank), Alia hasn't really done what I'd call run-of-the-mill BW films.

She does get the best scripts handed to her. Out of the BW lot, she's the best. So there is that, but she's average compared to actors from around India. Nothing superlative. There is Kangana, but she's toxic.

Alia is only considered good, because her and her nepo gang have made sure nobody else can thrive hence no competition.

If Alia was working in the same era as Priyanka or even Rani Mukerjee. She wouldn’t even last one day.

When people think of Alia’s contemporaries they think of Ananya, Janhvi, Sara, Kriti, Shraddha. No one thinks of Sanya Malhotra, Fatima Sana Sheikh, Radhika Madan. These girls are great and can definitely give Alia a run for her money if they are given a Raazi or a Gangu. But they don’t get the kind of support and push that Alia and the other nepo kids get.

What? Fatima and Radhika have a manly face structure that would unappealing and unpleasant to watch on screen. Sanya’s voice is super one note and often squeaky. Can’t imagine any of them fitting in Raazi. Gangubai I haven’t watched. But I would most definitely not watch if it had the likes of Kriti, Fatima, Radhika in it.

I found Alia in Raazi to be quite the fit. She brought a tenderness with her baby face and her chemistry with Vicky was!!!

And Alia looks like a 14 year old most of the time but she still played the characters she played with success.

Personally I disagree about Fatima and Radhika looking manly or Sanya being one note. But not all insiders are feminine and beautiful. The point is having big studio support helps in making the audience overlook your little imperfections.
