Rant: How to get this place more active ? Also need a forum party - Page 2

But seriously some change by the administration needs to be done to attract more people here as their is so much competition these days on various social media platforms.

You can’t. I joined this forum when I was young, velli and unaware of Bolly forum ( don’t think it was popular then) on Reddit. This forum is very outdated. You can’t even post a video without losing your mind. Now the young and vella population will join Reddit because they have the option.

You need vella population to keep a forum going, most old members here don’t have that kind of time anymore.

Try kar lo. If your voice is heard and they actually do something about it instead of the usual - "we are working upon it" then maybe there's still some hope. 😳

I came back to forum after an year or more of inactivity and found the place more dead than before. When I was here the activity of the forum was noticeably going down but now it is so dead.

I came here during Kat's wedding but activity was not on par with the past weddings. Also when Aryan's case was trending I came on the forum to see every thread on it closed or being trashed from that I felt atmosphere here has changed and overall moderation rules might have changed.

IF used to be the place I come to get new BW updates but these days even trending topics on other SM takes hours or days some times does not even make it to IF at all. Like when I Bip's pregnancy announcement on IG I came here to check the comments (especially the meltdown of that 1 Jenny fan Mira 😂) but no thread was here so I made one myself. Even though all news portals and twitter all have made articles on the news IF forums which usually picks up on such news was the last to get updated. So I think I might again take a break from IF again from sheer boredom . 😂

Anyways, I returned here just last month when I got to know some old members were still active here. Otherwise the group I interacted with the most, they were no longer active or not as active as they were originally. Also, I thought during the lockdown that the movie industry was shut down what would there be to discuss lol !!

Also, I will say one thing during the lock down I did get time to talk to relatives as mostly everyone was home and organize things at home etc .. I think the lockdown though it isolated you from outside world but it got you to chat online and possibly meet interesting people as some people had time and you could not really go out to places as things were shut down. Some even used social media to get prospective partners and get to know them well as most could not have the excuse I’m busy when thei locked down lol

I'm a very old IF BW member here who used to frequent the chats. Very old members can probably remember my previous ID (koolchick).

Jess, I think those days are long gone. The CC was active during a time when social media wasn't so pronounced. IF wasn't well known either outside of being a television forum, so the BW forum was nicely cushioned in. If you remember, facebook and twitter started getting their legs about a decade ago, and then members began to get cyber stalked. Thats why the chit chat has died down.

However last month, "private forums" were introduced. Jess, I think creating a chit chat in the private forums would solve that issue. You could chit chat away without worrying about privacy etc. You should check it out

Oh yeahhh, the gossip threads!! Those were fun!! And all those threads about PC - Shahid's IT raid and Shahid's white sauce...those were a riot🤣

So are you hosting a forum party or not? I already have my outfit ready and need a chance to wear it

It’s funny though. Reddit BW has a distinct dislike for IF. It’s hilarious. 😆

Anyhow - I agree with the state of the forum. But I think the concept of forums itself aren’t as satisfying (read: attention span wise) as they were back then compared to the other platforms.

Reddit has a mobile app and perhaps a larger user base. Discord exists for live conversations.

My usual style is now to skim through threads, post here and there, and then leave (and then come back later). I rarely stick around and refresh like the good old days.

Coming to the design - the last redesign was a good move, except it sucked. All it did was improve the front page/articles and change the theme on the forum so it looks slightly modern. Feature wise it was a complete joke too.

Like even the damn emojis didn’t get updated. 🐷 Nostalgic, yes. But oh so old.
