So from what I gather so far from the more neutral reviews i’ve read - the VFX was really good, Big B was impressive and it’s truly worth applauding what Bollywood has tried to do. On the flip side, it looks like it was massively let down by really poor dialogues and storytelling and the general consensus is that this is Alia’s worst acting since SOTY.

Brahmastra is set to score another huge day as collections are looking set to go up from Friday despite Friday itself recording excellent collections. There were places that the film was a little less and those places are jumps on Saturday. North India is making good gains on Saturday which is a good sign for the film. The film may well show growth of around 10%

The collections of the Hindi version could be around 36-37 crore nett on Saturday and all formats could go to 40 crore nett which would take the film to close to 70 criore nett and an easy 100 crore nett plus weekend for the film in Hindi. Even if the growth comes out a little less in finals its still very good as coming off high numbers.

The test will come on Sunday as to how far the mass markets can go and the further they go the better it will be for weekday holds. The film is likely to drop in Nizam / Andhra on day two due to a huge first day and even the Hindi version could drop also in that circuit but Mumbai which had a part holiday on Monday is holding very well and may well add a little on Saturday.

Overall the film is well set at the box office at present and its about what sort of leap it can take on Sunday to take it to a higher level

Movie is definitely worth a watch in the theatre. It is fun and the vfx is spectacular, and it didn't drag inspite of the length. Background score is awesome, i liked deva deva the best. Cameos were used very well.

The love story part in the first half was better than the second half because it kind of the dumbed down the movie, isha was clearly a one dimensional character with no backstory or strong motivation and it reflected in alia's acting. She looked pretty but mostly clueless. She did okay in action sequences. Mouni Roy was fantastic for whatever screen space she got.

Ranbir was good mostly but looked fatigued in parts, he was good in action sequences i still believe jagga jasoos is his best "fantasy" movie acting wise.

Screenplay wasn't good, some dialogues were cringe. Ranbir and aloo didn't have much chemistry but weren't really unbearable

I am excited for part two. Dev and amrita ftw.
