The video keeps talking about her many movies and big roles she’s done yet they only have footages from one movie to show. I think most of her work was before the partition and before she moved to Mumbai.

Anyway, Ranveer might have history with Bollywood and enough connections to have made his networking days easier. But I don’t believe that he was handed things on a platter the way star kids of the past ten years are. Comparing him to Ranbir with regards to nepotism is ridiculous. The difference in how they got their roles and launches couldn’t be more stark.

Exactly, I still remember when rk was launched, there was all this buzz in the news that raj kapoors grandson and rishi kapoors son is making his debut, he was directed by slb, one of the biggest and most reputed directors. They even had this big music launch event where anil kapoor and rishi kapoor were present to help support their kids, salman and rani were also present and they are all supporting rk and sonam.

When ranveer debuted no one had any idea who he is, no one had any idea who his parents or his grandparents are, and he was being directed by a debutant director maneesh sharma and was opposite anushka who had only done one movie at the time. No big star or industry person came out to support ranveer during his debut, not even anil kapoor or any of his family. Yet people try to say he is the same as a nepo kid 😆

I remember Sawaariya’s promotional events, that musical launch in particular. It was an honest to goodness family affair. All the headlines at the time was about Raj Kapoor’s grandson becoming an actor. I think even the term Kapoor Khandaan Ke Chiraagh was started around that time. I suppose it’s easier to dismiss all that because Sawaariya was a disaster but that doesn’t change the fact that Ranbir got one of the biggest and cushiest launches ever as if he was a crown prince taking his rightful spot in the industry 🙄 and I think certain segments of the industry are still hung up on that.

@red: Forget supporting him, people (I mean Karan Johar) actively worked against him. It’s an infamous story by now that KJo tried to talk Adi Chopra out of casting Ranveer because he wasn’t good looking enough for the industry. I understand this says more about KJo than anyone else (he tried talking Adi out of casting Anushka as well), but it also sheds light on Ranveer’s struggle and hustle. You can dislike him as an actor and/or dislike his on camera antics but you can’t deny that he’s worked hard for what he’s earned.
