Alisha in Gehraiyaan...Deepika's best performance till date

Re-watched Gehraiyaan on Prime just to watch Deepika creating magic on screen. The performance is pitch-perfect. What acting!

She's nailed it and how! A messy, complicated character with shades of grey...but Deepika has essayed it with a conviction and molded herself to fit the character in its entirety.

Piku and Tamasha were also excellent, but Alisha has the mark of an actress who has outdone herself.

Do you guys agree this is her best performance to date?

nah Chennai Express is still her best, I dont even need to watch the pretentious shit called Gehraiyaan

She was very good yes but when I watched Gehraiyaan, it didn't satisfy whatever it was in me that expected to be satisfied at the time I liked it all, but was dying to love it...

But then I watched it again few weeks later. And I felt so stupid for not appreciating the film for what it was the first time. I suppose I just wasn't in the right sort of zone then.

DP's best performance hell yeah. Ananya's performance is also noteworthy, she is a phenomenal performer, the next Alia for sure. Shakun is a wizard and I need his next project to go on the floors by 2023 plz. 👍🏼

Thanks for the reminder mintyblue, I might give it a third watch this weekend, Queenpika really gave us those extra-ordinary dreamy ethereal Tamasha-esque nuances x 6000 😭
