She is not exactly a struggler, but someone who has used her father's connection to suceed in music and now in acting. For the outsiders loving gang, she will be another Nepo kid.

Vedang Raina is someone who I feel comes from upper middle class from Mumbai as he has studied in one of the most posh school in Mumbai Jamnabai Narsee School.

They definitely used their connections ie friends or money to reach out to Zoya to cast them..

They’re not insiders but they’re outsiders with proper connections.

They’re not outsiders like SRK, Amitabh Bachchan, Anshuman K, etc who had to struggle..

Vedang's parents are rich. That seems to be a crime and criterion to be a starkid on thia forum. What a joke. He is an outsider.

Yuvraj and Mihir are also among the outsiders in The Archies.

Even Agastya is hardly a starkid.

Please don't label this movie "Multiverse of Nepotism" because it has only two starkids Suhana and Khushi, the daughters of Shah Rukh Khan and Sridevi and five outsiders.

I was trolling the outsider support group, who hate anyone with privileged background.

I don't think I'll be watching it but why on Earth would you dress them like this? It looks more like parody than an actual attempt to recreate Archies

On one hand, it’s great that the nepotism debate in Bollywood is beneficial for outsiders. They may get more work opportunities, but I highly doubt it. People are more ready to mouth off like social media keyboard warriors, than actually sit their bum down to watch a movie starring an outsider.

On the other hand, it’s really ridiculous to bash everyone who works with star kids and rich kids. In every field of work, parents hand down their privileges to their children. It is also considered the norm for the child to take on their parent’s profession, because that’s what they grew up around and learnt to love. Right from specialised fields like medicine to labour intensive jobs, this is how humans are programmed to function.

Honestly, I don’t care about the pedigree of the actor. I care that they know their craft well and can hold their own in a film. So if this debate puts pressure on the star kids to pay attention to acting and not take their audience’s love for granted, it’s great. Just let’s not take it into the realm of witch hunts.

This outsider insider debate is getting tedious.

Even other sectors for instance Medicine there are doctors who pay vast amounts of money in capitation fee for seat in medical college because their kids have not been able to secure seat merit based admission process.

It can be said the same about various business establishments too where parents ensure their children's place in the stablishment.

So what is wrong if a money bags producer, director or an actor wanting to secure their childrens' future in a business/field where they know their way around?

Would this thread have reached 10 pages if not for the star kids ? No one would even bat an eyelid on this project

Bollywood loves launching starkids because its the easiest way to get eyeballs on their product. Because the audience is equally obsessed with stars and their actions, whether good or bad. Its a truly love/hate relationship

Almost every field has nepotism, favouritism, regionalism going on in our country and I am sure in other countries too. Bollywood has always been a soft target for any issue. And they do not help themselves by not acknowledging their privilege and try to play victim too often.

Medicine, like you said is the prime example. Not just seats, once graduated, a doctor's kids will always have a leg up over candidates from other backgrounds. They can start their practice under their parents and get the funding as well to start their own practice eventually.

I have seen favouritism and regionalism being played out in IT companies as well where I have worked - some fairly big players too. Where regardless of merit, a Keralite will favour a person from Kerala and a person from NCR will favour a North Indian. Come promotion day, guess who will get the preference and the better appraisal.

Government jobs are some of the worst defaulters of nepotism and favouritism.

But like I said, its way easier to target Bollywood because they have a media presence and are accessible.

Do the Archies even need a film adaptation? We all know how the Tintin adaptation fared. Zoya might as well go for a Phantom or Mandrake remake. Those were hugely popular too during that time period -the pre-cable-TV India. The Batman and Superman comic adaptations became successful because new fans were being created all the time. It never stopped being relevant.

That said Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar was adulated as an Archie adaptation among the fans at that time. Even Kuch Kuch Hota Hai has some superficial similarity.

Hahaha extremely popular. Maine Hindi mein dono ke comic books padhe hain, ab pata nahin officially syndicated the ya duplicate. Plus hazy memory of some TV show on desi Phantom. 😃

Lekin yeh sab Anurag Kashyap, Dibakaar Banerjee type directors ke liye hain, Zoya ke liye Archies hi suit karenga 😆

Bas casting mein hag diya 😡
