People fail to understand that ayan s relationship with his partner is not in the same category as deepveer/vikat/virushka s relationship for the simple fact that this society cherishes the latter relationship while frowning upon the former. How come it's ok to make fun of ayan in name of "humanizing" but not provide his relationship with the same respect they bestow upon the heterosexual relationship

The audacity to talk about projecting insecurities when you are insensitive enough to make covid jokes

I am not lying. I am 60% sure that you were part of the group that made covid jokes about Ranbir-Ayan. Can I be wrong? yes. But I don't think I am.

But that s beside the point minty what you fail to understand is that you cant compare ayan with any other heterosexual person unless the society is mature enough to provide ayan with the respect it provides others.

Well you went too far with this...ur logic is twisted with no sir and pair....so if someone stands up for the rights of the LGBTQ community they are the ones who are the closeted homophobes? wah......yes start bashing us so that no one even dares to raise a finger on something wrong going on......I would say this is the attitude because of which even in 2022 the LGBTQ community is still crying for help....when they shouldn't have to...

How is this post even going against the rights of the LGBTQ community??

Gay people are also people, at the end of the day. U people are the ones treating them as some rarefied commodities instead of people. By trying to escalate them into some 'special' community you are doing a disservice to the entire community.

I would say this post is completely free of prejudice or trying to mock anyone's sexuality.

It is simply stating a fact that Ayan would be heartbroken because of this marriage.

However, I still maintain there is nothing homophobic about this particular post.

That's like saying 2+2 = 16, stretching it a bit too far.

Anyway, don't wanna argue anymore. Let's respect each other's point of view and move on.

No it's a very simple equation. Jokes without respect are not acceptable

Ok maybe LV is not homophobic I would take the rekhaji sword on it. But what you were talking about humanizing them by joking about them. That s not right because gay people do not get the same respect. First start with respect, rights and then we can talk about jokes

Pehli baar life mein "homophobic" joke suna tha KantaBen wala, KJo ki movie mein.

Toh main yeh nahin jaanata ki LGBTQ community ki Ranbir-Ayan jokes par kya take hai.

Lekin yeh baat toh hai ki jab Bhai par aise jokes crack hote hain tab way kaafi funny prateet kiye jaate hain...

There was a time when rape jokes were normal and accepted....same was with the gay jokes....we as a society didn't have an awareness about the LGBTQ community....what they go through...how society treats them....if we look back there are a lot of movies that had objectionable content and did great...3 Idiots with its rape jokes.....but we have to move on...we cannot be hung over the movies that showed these stuff 10, 20 years back and think if then it was acceptable and laughed about...why not now.....people grow and change when they learn about things...10 years back I wouldn't have given a thought about this topic but now I do.....

Recently we had a webinar about the transgenders in our organization....there were 3 people on the panel who told us their stories....it literally brought so many of us to tears....their own families threw them out...they were on their own and faced mockery and violence.....point being that we have to change our stance as we get to learn things....or experience things....it would be sad to not to and be rigid because 10 years back some of us thought it was OK.

OK, fair enough. I definitely shouldn’t have used heterosexuality as an example here. My bad.

My argument however stands. Ayan isn’t being mocked because he’s homosexual. He’s being mocked for supposedly being hung up on Ranbir all these years. That’s what the INTENTION is. His homosexuality isn’t being used as in insult. His supposed inability to move on from Ranbir is being used as an insult. What you are arguing here is that Ayan is all about his homosexuality, that’s his personality, that’s his likes and dislikes, and he’s nothing else outside of being gay. Think about that for minute before trying to accuse others of being insulting or homophobic.

I will accept that for you, I know even though you don't like Alia-Ranbir...you are one of the logical and reasonable members here...and that is why probably except Biru-Alia....we don't clash on other topics...😆one of the reasons that I react to ur posts more than similar posts from other members.....but on most part it is the homosexuality mocking that goes on.....and it really does hurt a whole community...Its really not about Biru-Alia...I do feel bad for homosexuals being mocked in general too..

I'm in 2 minds.

On one hand, a lot of these jokes are intended to mock homosexuality

But if making fun of ONE gay man for being hung up on someone is considered making fun of an entire community, that's a very dour attitude.

Lol. People here have made jokes about that ayan and ranbir getting covid in close contact with eachother. About his snifing ranbis s underwears . You are saying that's not homophobic?
