I can vouch for the following peoples character’s
that is all 😂
What SRK did is incorrect but it is being blown out of proportion and there is no need to troll him for this.
If you are a Hindu and you go to the funeral of your Muslim acquaintance don't start reciting Bhagwad Geeta shloks or invoke Hindu rituals . If you are a Muslim and go to the funeral of your Hindu acquaintance don't start invoking your rituals. It is common sense and SRK has loads of it.
Rafi was a devout Muslim, he did not wear it on his sleeve but neither did he hide it. It would have been unfair for him if anybody invoked any kind of non-Muslim rituals at his funeral.
Lata was a Hindu, she did not wear it on her sleeve and nor did she hide it. So it is a bit unfair to her.
But what is more important is SRK turned up, whatever be the intention. So did Aamir Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Vidya Balan with her husband in tow, Ashutosh Gowariekar, Madhur Bhandarkar. They say Tabu and Rani Mukherjee were also there but I did not see them. Amitabh Bachchan and Anupam Kher paid their last respects at Prabhu Kunj.
Hats-off to Javed Akhtar. He was at the funeral right from the beginning.
If I am not wrong, Shankar Mahadevan was also there.
But what happened to the likes of Akshay Kumar Ajay Devgn , Kangana Ranaut, Sonu Nigam, Sunidhi Chauhan, Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Alka Yadnik, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Shreya Goshal, Kumar Sanu and quite a few others? What were these people so busy with ? It takes only 5 minutes to pay your respect .
Older people like Dahrmendra, Saira Banu, Hema Malini and others could be excused. It was right of them not attend the ceremony
If Bollywood is going to treat on of it's biggest icons this way then no wonder audience is treating Bollywood films with indifference.

Genuinely sad to hear Ashley talk like this. Honestly always did enjoy your posts on mythology etc, but I didn't know these are your views. Makes me sad.
Wow so its come down to this. At least read what I wrote before falling for someone else's words.
Koi baat nahi, I clarified it with Autumn_Rose, I will do it one last time.
This member in question didn't even quote me. Instead she called me a bigot and what not and made her own assumptions.
I wasn't even talking about SRK, his name didn't even come up. It was completely different talks with Nimbu Mirchi about administration, safety etc...and in one post I said:
"Aap independence ka chodho, our textbooks used to say we were uncivilised fools and the British and Mughals "saved" us. The looters were our supposed saviours. I am not against any religion here, but how can the bad guys be depicted otherwise?"
NO WHERE did I bring up Muslims or Christians of the subcontinent. But said user, who refuses to not only tag me but reply to my quote of her misquotes, has continued to write such remarks about me.
Have a look at this, my reply to her when I noticed she misquoted me and didn't even tag me:

If invaders belonged to certain religions, what can I do about that? But if they were wrong, then they were wrong! I don't care about their religious beliefs, I will state what's wrong without any hesitation.
I will look at Aurangzeb with contempt, but I will continue to look upto Dara Shikoh, APJ Abdul Kalam and talents like Majrooh Sultanpuri and Sahir Ludhianvi.
I will look at General Dyer and the EIC with contempt, but I will continue to respect every Brit today, who condemn their forefathers' actions because they feel it was wrong, along with many talents like Tom Jones, Engelbert Humperdinck, Tom Hiddleston and Adele.
My point was...and here I'll try counter all the points she has been saying about me:
History should be written as it is.
Mughals and British are NOT equal to Muslim and Christians of the subcontinent.
SRK was NOT in the context, neither did I bring him up.
India is not equal to Hinduism, but this is the land where its come from. I will not say ki Australia se aaya right? This India = Hinduism also I did not say.
Another thing, which I have posted in that link, but I'll repost here so that this is done once and for all:
Just so you know, I have Muslim, Christian, Parsi, Sikh, Jain, Buddhist friends. I have a lot of friends from the UK where I studied and it included Turks, Arabs, Nigerians, not just the locals. Many of my friends on the forum are Muslims. Go ahead and ask them about my "bigot" nature.
My favourite actor is a Pakistani. My favourite actress is German-Turkish.
So I have no problem with whatsoever religion.
I am tagging Autumn and Nimbu because only were they there last night when this happened. Not tagging said other member because she continues to not reply to what I originally wrote, instead misquoted me and called me horrible names.
I love you buddy 🤗😆

Also, you called me andh bhakt. This is my last response to you. I don’t argue with someone resorting to that. You don’t know how to argue or have civil discussion. Bye Rajdeep uncle. 😃
I never called you one. I just told you what you sound like to me. Tumne apne aap ko khud bola hai 😂

Well, it took some time to read through 60 pages, but it was worth to do it - at least for me.
Matters of religion being used as scapegoat, as a mean for interests that have nothing to do with the belief/faith in 1 god (whatever his name) or many gods or in no gods is known since ancient times. Making religion an argument for killing people or at least for imposing own interests on other people is a crime against humanity as beliefs are used for gaining something for oneself one doesn't name with its proper term like power, money, property, advantages and so on. That goes for individuals and for groups...and a government consists of individuals with individual interests but posing as a group with a common agenda.
I'm not fond of ANY religion as they had become a kind of emotional body politic with rules and laws prone to be misused and twisted. However, I believe in faith, in something that makes us connect in a positive way with the forces of the Universe - and it doesn't matter which name you give to this faith.
So, SRK had any right to follow his personal faith when bidding goodbye to Lata (I bet, her soul accepted with a smile) - and interestingly, he did it in an Islamic way AND in a Hindu way (exactly as he is celebrating Indianess in his personal space).
I'll not enter in a political discussion about India, but it is evident to any human being with a critical mind that it is high time to stop this train of violence, hate, lies, misinformation, propaganda and glaring intolerance. It just happens what SRK said - first with his movie PBDHH and then with MNIK and then in this damned interview with Barkha Dutt. I'm still angry with her to make him - come hell or high water (which both came) - to say that (I paraphrase) intolerance would be the downfall of India.
2 threads in the last few months have had so much traction in these forums
One on SRK
Another on his son, Aryan
SRK jitni bhi tatti movie bana le, his name still rules the roost !

Ashley, you don't owe any explanation to anyone. Let anyone make whatever assumptions they want to.
On topic, yes, people trolling SRK are out of their minds. They are obviously low-life IT cell trolls. A simple prayer does not deserve so much hate it even so much discussion.
However, that being said, let's not use this as an attempt to justify Congress' Muslim appeasement policies. Neither should the qtiyapa of some Left liberals who always try to push the ridiculous 'Hindu terror' narrative be justified. Yes, Hindu majoritarianism is actively pushed by the government, no doubt. It has given rise to atrocities, yes, condemn them. But equating Hindu zealots to Islamic extremists is just.... Wonky.
@HearMeRoar: It wasn't just the Mughals who pushed the Islamist agenda. In fact, Mughals were still better than the likes of Allauddin or Bakhtiyar Khilji, or the Lodhis. So calling them 'Islamic invaders' isn't a stretch. They actively pushed the Islamism agenda to convert and cleanse en masse.
