Uhhh no. AK himself has mentioned many times how he lived in Chandini Chowk & how his family struggled financially all the time. “Fairly well-to-do” people esp in India, do NOT become cooks. He & his family were poor.

Also TK wasn’t “super rich” by most standards esp after her father’s death. In her Tweak IVs she makes references as to how she had to grow up very soon & enter films which she loathed, to support her family since her mother was a single parent. Check out her Tweak IV with Kareena, she specifically says this.

Bottom line is, that it seems she fell for Akshay even though for her they started off as a fling. Lol.

Maybe AK's family genuinely did struggle for some time, but that really does not seem to have been consistently the case as he mentioned he went to school with Sajid Nadiadwala, and after googling I found that that is the Don Bosco High School, same one attended by Amitabh Bachchan, and all the Kapoors. This plus the fact that AK himself admits he was a below average student (cancelling out the chance of him being on a scholarship or anything like that) makes it clear that it's safe to say Akshay didn't come from poverty as such, even if they did have some bad times.

I agree that becoming a cook/chef would be an unconventional choice for someone from a well to do family in India, but with AK it seems to have been more a case of him choosing to drop out from education, travel and do what he liked doing vs having to do it out of financial need.

And as for Twinkle, judging by your post she seems to have been the OG "struggler" long before our Annie Pie lmao. It was well known back in the day that Twinkle and her sister didn't even stay with their mom in the first place... It was Dimple who left the house as Rajesh Khanna didn't want her acting in films after marriage...

Plus either way Rajesh was massively successful (he was literally referred to as Bollywood's first superstar ffs), and Dimple was pretty successful in her own right too, so there is no way Twinkle joined films to "support" anyone lol.

Twinkle joined films the same way most star kids do, debuting in a big budget movie opposite another star kid, but her career flopped (despite her contacts and looks) due to her complete lack of talent, which might be hard to accept for her, hence she has resorted to spinning such stories.

I dont know with whom Rajesh had affair after marrying Dimple.But Dimple got into an affair after leaving Rajesh.But they were not legally divorced.they were rumours that Twinkle stayed away from Akshay when priyanka rumour came though Twinkle denied it.So not sure whether she is really fine with akshay cheating her.

He was close with the Darshans, Nadiadwala, Priyadarshan etc, the only movies that he did not do were from Yash Chopra and Dharma, in fact he even got DTPH from Yash Chopra before he married Twinkle.

Twinkle was a flop actress without any alternative career, and she was not rich at that time. She was quite rich in her childhood, but Rajesh Khanna flopping and her parents divorce actually led her to acting to make money though she didn't like it.

She probably married him because she was sick of acting and wanted to quit for a stable money and life, plus he was good looking, rich. She could pursue alternative careers without the stress of money.

Akshay probably married her because she is very beautiful, she would not act any more and of course being Dimple and Rajesh Khanna daughter definitely helps.

I think what Twinkle brought in Akshay was better styling, grooming and pr where Bollywood was finally acknowledging his success. Akshay got in stability and money for her to pursue what she wanted. I don't think infidelity was an issue with Twinkle, as her parents had a toxic marriage with open affairs, guess she was only looking to a stable marriage ignoring the affairs as long as there was no divorce, and Akshay also probably wanted to play around but without divorce.

All said and done though both of them are very different, both of them have been very lucky for each other, they became super rich and successful after marriage

And after marrying akki, he paid all Rajesh Khanna's debts. So yes I believe when twinkle said she joined films to support her family. Just that donot compare it will poor families issues. They due have financial issues but not something like they cannot even eat for a day type of financial issues. They are almost or maybe bankruptcy due to Rajesh Khanna.

Its confusing.Rajesh khanna's last gf says that he wanted to marry her in the last stage but he couldn't aa he was not legally divorced.she says that dimple did not give him divorce as she wanted his property.

And at the end of the day, if they were really struggling that much as she makes out then Twinkle would have debuted in some low budget film/in a supporting role/opposite some outsider the way say Rekha or Karishma Kapoor did (despite actually being star-kids themselves too), not lead role in a high budget movie opposite another super successful film star's son ffs.

As for Akshay his family may not have been rich at all by BW standards, and he probably did struggle a lot to get where he is being an outsider but lower middle class/working class kids definitely do not go to Don Bosco paying full fees lmao.

She came in lead roles because of connections not money.. and i am surprised no one knows about Rajesh Khanna debts and lavish life. His assets are maybe equal to his debts, i cannot comment .. but it is an open secret about Rajesh Khanna financial status in industry.

Akshay said in an interview back in the 90s that he got admission to the school because he picked a paper lying on the floor and threw it in the bin ,the Principle father saw it and gave him admission. 🤷‍♀️
